Character Formation: Financial Literacy & Money Management

Our CrossPointe students are strengthening essential financial skills — setting goals, building confidence, investing in stability, and practicing real‑world money management that prepares them for life and work in the trades.

Last week, Ian Perry from Sachse Construction spent time with our CrossPointe students, sharing honest and practical insight about mental health in the construction industry.

Ian serves with the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention (AFSP) and brings deep experience supporting workers, veterans, and first responders through education and advocacy. His presentation helped our students understand the realities many tradespeople face and the importance of looking out for one another on and off the job site.

Our CrossPointe HVAC and Carpentry students are completing their OSHA‑10 safety training this week and next. This certification prepares them for real job‑site expectations and reinforces the importance of safe, responsible work in the trades.

We’re proud of their hard work and excited to see them continue growing in skill, confidence, and character!

A new school year has begun at SEMCA, and CrossPointe Center for the Trades is honored to walk alongside students. Through our dual‑enrollment partnership, students grow in hands‑on trade training, as well as in Christian formation and S.E.T. Readiness for Life — the social, emotional, and transformational skills that support them in life and work.

We’re grateful for the CrossPointe community God is shaping — a place of growth, encouragement, and new beginnings. “Behold, I am doing a new thing…” (Isaiah 43:19). We trust that God is at work in these students, forming their character, strengthening their skills, and preparing them for the future He is calling them into.

We pray God’s blessing over your studies, your training, and the future you’re building. May this year be filled with learning, development, and the confidence that your work matters.
