Chill, user-friendly, forgiving, yet still fancy, athletic, and smooth? They don't come in a package like this very often! Ace has been an absolute cake walk to work with his entire life. From basic groundwork as a baby, all the way up to learning to spin and track the dummy as a 3-year-old, Ace has had a "yes ma'am" attitude. He has been the most naturally dependable and trustworthy horse I've ever encountered. I've actually loved working with him so much that I went back to the breeder and purchased 2 more of his younger brothers!
Ace has great ground manners, stands tied quietly both at home and away from home/at the trailer, loads and unloads without any issues, and hauls quietly. I've had him in many different living situations where he has lived in a pasture, been in smaller paddocks, been stalled and as of now he is in a stall/turn out lot rotation. He isn't picky and gets along well in all living situations. Ace gets along well with other horses and as he gets older, I've noticed him going from the very bottom of the pecking order to more of the middleman. Ace stands great for the farrier and currently has shoes on all four feet. He stands well for all of the basics such as bathes, vet work, grooming, saddling, etc.
While I, myself am not a showman, (I prefer to start c**ts and install the foundation) I see Ace being a fantastic candidate for ranch versatility events, entry level reining, and/or roping. Ace carries himself extremely well and wants to have a big stop. All of the buttons are there! He's broke in the body, soft in his face, and knows how to gear up and gear down by rating your seat. He might be fancy, but this guy is still user friendly too! He's been my go-to horse this year to put people on so that I know they will be safe. I would almost guarantee that this guy will be your kids' horse in the future if not tomorrow. While he is super chill and easy going, Ace does have a motor to him when you really ask for it. He has the gears and the want to, to make a rope horse on both ends. I've tracked cattle and played with sorting a few on Ace here and there when cattle were available. Let me tell you, he didn't disappoint! This fella loves cattle and goes to them naturally. We've also worked the flag and Ace hooked on to that as well and showed us his natural draw and just how catty he wanted to be.
With a nice, big stop, spins both ways, seamless transitions, and THE SMOOTHEST GAITS you'll ever sit on a Quarter Horse, Ace really deserves to be someone's number one and go do big things. I've hauled him with my barrel horses to jackpots and rode him around for exposure. Not a thing phases him. It's like he's been everywhere we go 10 times already before. I've also pasture rode and trail rode Ace in different places, and he handles that environment just as well. No big deal here! He's helped me by ponying c**ts here and there, but he is also good about being ponied. Aces stays quiet with time off and has never offered any sort of funny business, not even back when he was first getting started. Flags, tarps, trash cans, kids on bikes, traffic, none of that has phased ol Ace man. He really is a gem.
Ace is up to date on coggins, vaccinations, dental and farrier work.
