🤯 The Sun looks HUGE… until you compare it to these stars.
Our Sun is just 1× the size.
🔴 Aldebaran — ~45×
🔴 Antares — ~680×
🔴 Betelgeuse — ~724×
🔴 VY Canis Majoris — ~1,420×
🔴 Stephenson 2-18 — ~2,150× the Sun’s radius 😳
If the commonly cited estimate for Stephenson 2-18 is correct, its enormous size could extend roughly toward Saturn’s orbit if it replaced our Sun.
And remember… these are all stars in the same universe. 🌌
👇 Which one surprised you the most?

27 HIDDEN WORLDS BEYOND NEPTUNE?! 🪐
The James Webb Space Telescope and Hubble Space Telescope have helped astronomers identify 27 previously unknown trans-Neptunian objects in the distant outer Solar System.
Some may be only about 10 km across — incredibly tiny compared with planets, yet potentially carrying clues about how our Solar System formed billions of years ago. 🌌
And here’s the fascinating part… scientists found fewer small objects than some models predicted. That could help researchers understand what happened in the distant Solar System during its early history.
🔭 The farther we look, the more we realize how much is still hiding out there.
What do you think is still waiting to be discovered beyond Neptune? 👀

In 1862, the U.S. government passed the Homestead Act, allowing eligible settlers to claim up to 160 acres of public land. 🌾🏡
But there was a catch — they had to live on the land, improve it, and cultivate it for 5 years before receiving the title.
🤯 More than 270 million acres were eventually distributed under the Homestead Act.
A simple piece of legislation that helped reshape the American West. 🇺🇸
Would you have taken 160 acres and started a new life in the 1800s? 👇

This galaxy is hiding a cosmic monster.
Centaurus A is one of the closest active galaxies to Earth — and it’s anything but quiet.
At its center sits a supermassive black hole that launches enormous jets of high-energy particles into space. These jets create gigantic radio lobes that extend far beyond the visible galaxy.
👀 What looks like a beautiful galaxy in visible light becomes something completely different when viewed in radio waves.
Same galaxy. Different universe. 🚀

👽🇺🇸 A FUTURE U.S. PRESIDENT ONCE REPORTED SEEING A UFO…
In 1969, years before becoming president, Jimmy Carter reported seeing a strange object in the sky near Leary, Georgia.
He described a bright object that appeared to change colors and move across the sky. Other people were reportedly present too.
The mystery? 🤔
What exactly did they see that night?
Carter later filed an official UFO report—but the sighting was never conclusively identified.
🔎 UFO, unusual aircraft, atmospheric phenomenon… or something else?
What do YOU think Carter saw? 👇

5 things in space that sound completely FAKE… but they’re REAL. 🌌
🌑 Planets with no Sun
📡 Signals lasting less than a second
🕳️ Time behaving differently near black holes
🔥 Planets that challenge what we thought was possible
👻 Galaxies with surprisingly little dark matter
And the crazy part? We still don’t fully understand some of them.
👇 Which one shocked you the most — 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5?

THIS ISN’T JUST A TELESCOPE… IT’S A TIME MACHINE. 🔭
Meet the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) — the most powerful space telescope ever built for observing the universe in infrared.
✨ 18 hexagonal mirrors work together as one giant 6.5-meter-class primary mirror.
🟡 The mirrors are coated with gold because gold reflects infrared light extremely well.
❄️ A 5-layer sunshield protects the telescope from the Sun’s heat.
🔬 Its instruments can study galaxies, stars, planets and the chemistry of distant worlds.
📡 It observes infrared light that can reveal objects hidden behind cosmic dust.
🚀 And it operates around 1.5 million km from Earth, near a special location called L2.
But here’s the mind-blowing part…
When JWST looks at an extremely distant galaxy, the light reaching its mirrors may have traveled for billions of years.
That means JWST isn’t just showing us distant places…
It’s showing us the universe’s ancient past. 🤯🌌
🔭 18 mirrors. One telescope. Billions of years of cosmic history.
