Apollo Part 22 - Right before this I had been at the barn with Apollo's owner with Apollo online doing the Friendly game with the blanket. We had finally gotten some relaxation and ended with taking the halter off and Apollo hanging out at Liberty. We left him and he eventually turned and walked down the hill to be with Cocoa who was in the round pen. I headed down to leave out the bottom gate and this video shows how Apollo responded to my approach.

As I watch Apollo gain trust, it makes me value what I have just begun to comprehend and that is the real essence of Energy. I know that's a wide open statement but it is in fact a critical part of our lives. What horses do is bring its importance to matter if we want a relationship built on trust and understanding. In todays busy times its even more important to be aware and strive to gain control of the blasting of our intense life style energy to a level that is more suited to align with our horses to make possible connections that build strong trusting relationships. In truth it helps with any and all of our relationships. Just thinking...

As you may recall I posted a series about the taming of Apollo. It was Aug/Sept 2025 then I broke my knee and took time to heal. I am back at it again and you can watch his progression on the Parelli Network which is free to join. Here is the link:https://community.parelli.com/share/Vj7lczvofucUAGaQ

Horse training is simpler if you are a good puzzle solver. In the Parelli Levels home study Horse/People training system its all about becoming a great puzzle solver using the 7 Games as a diagnostic/communication tool. Game #1 the Friendly Game aka the Confidence game is often easily overlooked. If the horse is standing there and isn't trying to run away then it must be time for Game #2 (yielding to steady pressure) right? Then when you go for Game #2 the Porcupine game, you find the horse is dull and not very light..of course you go through your phases but it sure isn't light or have a "willing" or "light" feel about it... then you proceed to Game #3 and the horse could be over reactive and bolts away or doesn't respond at all as if frozen! These are all signs of Game #1 not being won/conquered. In this 17 min video of Apollo you will see flighty, resistance and the appearance of being stubborn but don't let those observations lead you down a misguided training plan. There is a Game #1 gaping hole and I have to find it, build trust in it to solve his trust issues to truly get him ready to be easy for the Farrier. The Farrier is new to him and Apollo has never been trimmed by a Farrier without sedation.. See if when you are watching you figure out exactly where the hole in Game #1 is. Thanks for watching and I hope it is useful to you.

If you haven't yet joined the free Parelli Network which is the hub for sharing stories, getting educated and the portal to the Savvy Club and the Levels training below is the link. Sure you will need $$ when you choose to enroll in the Education or Savvy Club as it is an investment in your puzzle solving skills....

Those who misunderstand pressure will be trapped in it perpetually.

Pressure exists everywhere in nature- your physical presence next to a horse is pressure. If you don’t understand it and how it affects a horse, you will inevitably be causing it without intention or awareness. You can think of it as energy - ideally, we are working subtly with energy drive and draw lines with horses : a flowing dance that is intuitive to them.

Many people push and pull on a horse simultaneously with their energy endlessly- asking the horse to go and yet giving them no place to go. They say to themsleves they aren’t using pressure and yet block and push the horse constantly.

Pressure has become a dirty word, and yet, many people who are afraid to use it are in fact usually overusing it, without giving the horse any relief from it or worse yet - education to it.

To have success and safety in the horse industry, you must teach yourself and your horse how to understand, handle, and respond to pressure.

If Legend was a human kid....he would be the kid that truly is a victim of bullying....its a thing....I feed...seperate the bowls far apart so Sol gets his and Legend gets his....I head on out to the pasture to pick up the droplets from the night before....then I hear ....thundering hoof beats coming my way....yep...its Legend ...he wants me ...and he wants me to help him. What's his problem today...I ask myself...The noseeiums are out in the morning and evenings at dusk so I spray the horses and the ground around where they eat so that must not be it today. Sol is fine but Legend is concerned and needs ME to see about HIS needs. I promptly go with him only to see that Sol has grabbed Legends bowl of mushy Alfalfa pellets and grain and is eating it. I give it back to Legend far out of reach for Sol's handy grab technique! There are pro's and con's to teaching/allowing horses to be "smart" and "handy". Its handy when Sol brings me his big bowl for me to dump his mix in but then now...he knows the power of "take"!🤪 Someday its not thievery but just gnats and Legend hates the pestering whereas Sol doesn't even notice them. No matter the issue it is kinda a good feeling to think and have proof that the Partnerships are a shared experience rather than just me using them for my enjoyment. That is what Learning the Language of horses did for me and the learning system is tried and true and its the Parelli Levels Home Study program and for anyone who has not found my community, i added the link for you but you will be ask for your email and to create a password but its FREE to join and then if you want to learn at your pace in your own space you can invest in the Parelli Levels Home Study education system. 💞Here is the link: See you there!

As I was sorting through some boxes I ran across 2 seperate life times that seem so unrelated but are so closely related to skills needed for success.
