McCreary Central HOSA on the Move!✨

McCreary Central HOSA students had the incredible opportunity to attend the AHEC HOT (Health Occupations Today) Expo at the Center for Rural Development! 🩺💡

They explored hands-on simulations, met healthcare professionals, learned about high-demand careers, and gained valuable insight into the many pathways available in the health sciences. Their curiosity, leadership, and enthusiasm made us so proud!

A huge thank-you to AHEC and The Center for Rural Development for hosting such a meaningful experience for our future healthcare heroes! ❤️🩺

❤️💛 Raider HOSA Spotlight 💛❤️

Today, McCreary Central’s HOSA–Future Health Professionals had the exciting opportunity to participate in the HOT (Health Occupations and Technology) Expo sponsored by AHEC at The Arena in Corbin, Kentucky!

Our students explored a wide range of healthcare careers, participated in hands-on demonstrations, and networked with professionals from across the region. Events like this help our future healthcare leaders connect classroom learning with real-world experiences—and inspire them to keep chasing their goals in the health sciences!

We extend our gratitude to Ms.Holly and the McCreary County Public Library for collaborating with McCreary Central's HOSA students to inspire our youth. The inaugural Teddy Bear and Friends Clinic proved to be a groundbreaking triumph, providing a comprehensive experience encompassing x-rays, eye exams, lab work, boo boo repairs, and an adoption center where children could find a new beloved companion. What a rewarding day!

Hey everyone! The McCreary Central High School HOSA Department is excited to announce our Teddy Bear Drive! We are collecting NEW Teddy Bears for children in our community for an upcoming event with the McCreary County Public Library.

We are pleased to announce that 61 students from McCreary Central HOSA participated in the 2024-25 State Leadership Conference, which took place in Louisville, Kentucky, from March 20 to 22, 2025.

This year, we take pride in having received recognition for maintaining the largest registered membership in the state.

Our students achieved remarkable success, with Saralyn King securing 1st place in Pathophysiology and Abbigail Monhollen attaining 2nd place in Occupational Therapy. Additional awards were presented to Josie Stephens for Extemporaneous Writing and Deserae Clark for Health Career Photography, both of whom placed in the top 5 of their respective categories. Moreover, Isabelle Canada, Addison Cecil, Cadie Clark, AJ Egnew, Madison Ryan, and Isabella Canada achieved 1st place in the Emotional Well-Being Challenge.

These remarkable accomplishments reflect our student’s and advisors’ dedication and hard work. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Charlotte Barnett, Principal, for her unwavering support, as well as to the McCreary County Board of Education, Board Members, and the McCreary County School Transportation Department for their continued assistance!
