The investors who win in this business aren’t looking at what a market is today. They’re looking at what it will be five years from now.
Steamboat when Aspen bought the resort and announced plans for the gondola and base expansion. Orange Beach when the Gulf Shores airport announced it was going commercial. Gruene when no one had built new condos walkable to the hall in years. Mars Hill before the ski resort even opened.
In every case I bought before the headlines caught up. That’s the edge.
It takes some research and some patience and a willingness to bet on what you can see coming. But the returns over time aren’t even close.

How? It’s all in the setup. So many new owners just buy a property and throw it up on Airbnb to see how it’ll do. If you set a property up with the right tech stack from day 1, you’ll not only make the operations so much easier, you’ll double your revenue. Take the time to learn the business and you won’t be sorry.
I’m the owner who does it all because that’s how I make the most revenue. I list on Airbnb, VRBO, Booking.com, Google Vacation Rentals, and my own direct booking site. I run a tech stack that ties everything together and communicates between them all, automating along the way.
It sounds like a lot. And in the beginning, it is. But once it’s set up, it really does start to run on its own. Messages, pricing, cleaning, check-ins, marketing - the system handles the day to day so I can focus on the bigger decisions.
That’s how I’ve grown my revenues 15-20% across my portfolio every year since 2022.
