I am posting this for Kathy Rumunno Dixon. Let's rally behind one of our own and show her some love!

1 Survivor, 2 Fans, and a Reality Star
Dear Family and Friends,
That is the name of my team that will be participating in the Reality Rally in April. My friends Ty and Janice asked me to be a part of their team and I am looking forward to the event! Breast cancer is a reality I have had to face everyday for the past 7 1/2 years. As I have shared with some of you, I am fighting a recurrence of my breast cancer. Shortly after getting the thumbs up clear after 5 yrs of being cancer free, I was devastated to learn it had come back last Spring. After another surgery (4 in all now), much prayer, great physicians, meds, and diet, I have been given much hope to prevail.

During my first go around, my mom and I fought our battle with breast cancer together, but in separate states. She was in Colorado and I in California. I was diagnosed shortly after her. We endured similar surgeries and chemo treatments. She was my mentor and hero. She passed Nov. 1, 2007.

Please support my team if you can. I am doing well because causes like this do help people like me. Thankfully I am able to resume a normal life as I continue teaching gymnastics, dance, substitute teaching, and the most important being a mother to my 11 and 13 yr old daughters and wife to my wonderful husband. I am being treated at City of Hope, a world renowned academic medical facility where methods of new treatments are being discovered everyday! It is encouraging to be told by my oncologist that if the meds I am on stop working there are 5 more to try! God bless, Kathy, Gene, Talia, and Mya

Reality Rally Event in Temecula California

Rumor has it we raised enough money at the memorial picnic to donate a tree and a plaque with our classmates' names on it! Good job, sailors. We'll keep you posted on the progress so that the next time you're in town you can visit our spot in the park :)
