Summary:

Fills in for regularly scheduled teachers in their absence. Provides a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for the children.

Child care may be available at a discounted rate.

Work Schedule: Full Time Days (40 hours/week)

Responsibilities:

Fills in for classroom teachers in their absence and assists in classrooms as needed. Provides child care in the assigned classroom. Initiates appropriate learning opportunities and one-on-one interactions. Maintains flexible schedule.
Maintains an organized and clean environment. Communicates with staff regarding classrooms and parents.
Communicates with parents daily; uses the communication app to inform parents of daily happenings. Answers parent questions and concerns.
May assist with meal preparation and delivery, stocking, clean-up, sanitizing, assisting with field trips and other duties as assigned.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

Minimum Required Education: Qualified Assistant Early Childhood Teacher per Child Care Licensing.

Required Licensure/Certification: For YVMC GrandKids program only: American Red Cross First Aid/CPR within 6 months of hire. To be tracked at the department: Medication Administration certification within 6 months of hire. Preferred: Valid driver’s license.

Minimum Experience: Per State of Colorado regulations for Assistant Early Childhood Teacher.

The pay range for this position is: $18.54 - $24.10 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

An annual bonus may be paid to eligible employees based upon organizational and individual performance.
