Interested in playing Girls Basketball this season? Below is important information from the Girls Basketball Coach, Shawn Baumgartner:
The official start of basketball season is just 3 weeks away. I want to let everyone know what we have coming up for the pre-season and the start of the season in November.
Registration - message from the high school office
Winter Sports Registration is now live at: https://sailorsathletics-ar.rschooltoday.com/
Participation fee ($200.00) can be paid with a credit card when registering for a sport. If the parent chooses to pay with a check or credit card they may do so in the office at the high school. We can no longer charge student accounts for participation fees.
All student athletes must have a current sports physical on file.
There are several student athletes that have outstanding sports fees (hotels, spirit gear, summer camp). If a student athlete has an outstanding balance, they will not be cleared until they pay the balance or set up a payment plan.
For those who need a current Impact Test, our training Stephanie Stefanelli, will be doing a girls basketball team Impact Test on
Nov. 8th at 3:35. If you are unsure if you need a new Impact Test, Steph will be getting us a list.
Pre-season Conditioning & Fundamentals Camp
Our goal during the pre-season camp is to get everyone back together and in the gym. Our main focus will be conditioning and basic fundamentals - ball handling, passing, shooting, defensive stance, transition defense, ect... We will also be in the weight room for some team workouts.
These sessions are optional, but highly encouraged.
NOV 1st, 2nd, & 3rd, 3:45 - 5:45
NOV 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, & 10th, 3:35 - 5:45
Parent Meeting
We will have our parent meeting on Nov 7 at 5:45pm in the SSHS Media Center. We will cover team expectations, practice and game schedules, parent volunteer opportunities, ect...

Travel Gear
We will be getting new travel gear for this year (by the girls' request). The cost will be $83 for Under Armour jogger sweats and zip hoodie. We will have order forms available at the parent meeting. Students' accounts will be charged for the cost. Hopefully this is gear we can keep for multiple years so returning players next won't have to purchase travel gear again.
Thanksgiving Week
We will be practicing over the Thanksgiving Break. We will not have practice on Thanksgiving Day. I know families may already have plans or traditions they do over Thanksgiving. It's important to have as many as we can at practice over the break. The Varsity goes to the Roaring Fork Tournament the week we get back from Thanksgiving.
Tentative plan - Mon, Tues, Wed (am), Fri (evening), Sat
We are looking for a scrimmage, which could possibly be during the Thanksgiving break.
