Even with district and state meets over Stayton Highschool OHSET still has athletes competing at our Regional competition!!

In three weeks Naomi and Lanhden will head to Moses Lake Washington to represent Stayton, the Willamette District and the State of Oregon at PNWIC. We are excited for them and extremely proud of them. Wish them good luck!!

Luci Kosel

Snack Ninja-Luci K.
Luci K has an infectious personality and simply stating the facts of a situation is her super power. She’s our literal snack ninja on the team — snacks for herself but more importantly the equines keep everyone well fed and happy! This girl has accomplished a lot this rookie season and ended the year 6th in the district overall TOP 10 for Rookie of Year and did so with lots of snacks in hand and a smile on her face!

“Dynamic Duo“ Luci and Reba, the sassy lil red head is no match for her equally sassy yet calm and focused rider and together they are a dynamic duo who are going lots of places to her finishes in rancher with those long drags, to earning the rookie sorting buckle at Estes and the rookie of year placing at end of season this Duo is just getting started!

Rylee Pitts

Unbreakable Spirit- Rylee
This girl took on a crazy first meet schedule. The hardest of all the kids and that I think we have ever had. She hung in there and trusted us to guide her through it. She also joined Canadian flags B team when she didn’t want to, not even a LITTLE. Making adjustments all season long to find her groove was the bane of her game! Plus the girl has got so much jam!! From making our practice playlists and bringing a speaker to jam out to being our student team photographer she’s got spirit like no one else! She’s ready to rock out to tunes, snap the perfect photo, and work on improving her horse goes!! She ended up improving her personal bests in her reining, ending up 10th overall for the event!

Abi Kosel

Silent Superhero- Abi
This girls is such a gem, a quiet yet solid horseman and one that’s always learning and pushing herself and her equine athletes to be better! Abi is reflective and errors only make her stronger. She is the epitome of coachable and is eager to learn and always improve! The fact that she ended up in TOP 10 in versatility award 2/3 split for our district was no surprise! She was Versatility Award 6th for entire District.

Bloom Where your planted-Phoenix Reents

This kid has literally done everything I’ve put in front of them for 4 straight years! Trusting me when I wanted them to ride a beloved Palomino Yella to run barrels and do team gaming as a freshman! Prolly had some choice words in their head when I asked them but they did it! They have always bloomed in every aspect of training their horse Jubilee from getting her to load safely to making her into the dead broke balanced horse she is today! This year jumping her for the first time and clearing exactly zero jumps first meet to clearing them all by meet 3– what a difference! Phoenix is our graduating senior and it’s been a wild ride! So very proud of horseman they have become over the past 4 years! I was so proud when they ended the year TOP 10 PERFORMANCE 9th overall in Willamette District!

Most Balanced— Phoenix and Jubilee, Jubilee has gone from a baby to a pleasure queen in 4 short years showing the ability to remain balanced in almost any event from flags to trail class it’s very evident the time and effort P and Jub have put in have made a very broke and very balanced equine
