***Fraud Alert****
Recently a solicitor was in Staunton businesses requesting donations for wounded warriors. This person could not be validated as legitimate, and after contacting Wounded Warriors this was a scam. We appreciate anyone donating to help our Veterans, however use caution whenever solicitors show up unannounced asking for donations. VFW Post 1241 and American Legion Post 362 are your local organizations and can be contacted directly about anyone soliciting in Staunton for Veterans. If you suspect someone soliciting is not credible you should contact the Staunton Police Department immediately. Thank you.
