We are recognizing one of our Seniors and Storm Ambassadors , Parker, for Virginia Department of Education - VDOE Kindness Week!

She recognized that sometimes there is a need for hygiene items and not everyone has access to those resources. Before winter break she executed a hygiene item drive to gather these resources and today donated those items to Nurse Arnold who will help to make sure to provide these items to those who need it!

It's time to start picking classes for the 26-27 school year! Helpful information to prepare can be found on the SHS Counseling Website (must be logged into YOUR SHS STUDENT ACCOUNT TO ACCESS). Please use the resources and log into the student portal to choose your classes starting on February 9th.

To ensure families are taken care of during the snowstorm, the SCS School Nutrition Program is providing free 4-day meal bundles tomorrow, Friday, January 23, as we anticipate potential school closures:

✔️ Three pick-up options for families (see flyer)
✔️ One bundle per child—breakfast and lunch included
✔️ Free for children 18 and under
✔️ Includes fresh produce, whole grains, protein, and milk
✔️ First-come, first-served while supplies last

❄️ SCHOOLS CLOSED TUESDAY, DECEMBER 2 ❄️
Due to the forecast of ice and freezing rain during the morning commute, Staunton City Schools will be CLOSED on Tuesday, December 2. The freezing rain is expected during our scheduled bus routes and could create unsafe travel conditions for student drivers and staff.

Important details:
• Twelve-month employees do not report.
• All athletic & extracurricular activities are canceled.
• VCTC & Governor’s School students may attend if they open/delay, but no SCS transportation will be provided.
