Join us in celebrating Mr. Randy Wood on his first day as the new principal at West Iredell Middle School. Mr. Wood previously served as an assistant principal at Lake Norman High School and will be replacing Mr. Nicholas Lord, who was named the principal at Weathers Creek High School. Mr. Wood holds a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree in school administration from Western Carolina University. He has over eighteen years of education experience as a teacher, athletic director, and assistant principal.

“I am honored and excited to join the West Iredell Middle School community,” explained Wood. “WIMS has a strong tradition of academic excellence and school pride, and I look forward to building that legacy alongside our dedicated teachers, staff, and families. My focus will be on creating a supportive, engaging environment where every student feels valued, challenged, and prepared to succeed both in the classroom and beyond.”

Mrs. Dalton's 7th grade Social Studies classes completed a fun activity while learning about the different types of government. Small groups were given a packet with 8 events, a story of The End of Humanity, Zombie Apocalypse, and a different form of government in each packet. Then, they were given a set of questions to determine if their assigned government would survive settling in a middle school that they were using to create a new community or would they become zombie food.
