West Iredell High School Band

Today was a busy day in Warrior Nation!

This morning, several of our leadership and other members of the band traveled with the WIHS Arts Departments to Scotts Elementary School. 🎭🎨🎤🎼 They gave instrument demonstrations and shared with the students about what band looks like in high school. 🎶 They spoke to over 275 elementary schoolers who participated in Scotts A+ Arts Day - a day for highlighting the fine arts and encouraging young students to continue pursuing their passions. We definitely saw some future Band of Warriors members!! 💚 We are so proud of how these students represented WIHS today at Scotts.

Later, members of our percussion section surprised WIHS with Flash Mob performances during lunch! 🤩 This was such an exciting way for the band to be a part of getting students hyped up for our pep rally. These students had a short three days to put together cadences - having not touched their marching drums for quite some time (they were a little dusty). They pulled it off and played exceptionally. 🥁

We are so grateful for the continued support of our program from our school and local community! It’s a great day to be a Warrior! 💚

We cannot overstate the pride we feel in, and for, our Warriors. 👏🏼💚

Our students performed so well yesterday at MPA 🎼- the WIHS Band went up an entire rating level in stage performance and up two rating levels in sight reading! Their ceaseless efforts of improvement pay off every day. We are so proud of each and every one of them! 🎹🎷Stay tuned for more pictures of the event.👏🏼

Our next performance will be April 16th, 2026 at WIHS in the Auditorium. Join us at 7:30pm for the WIHS Symphonic Band Spring Concert (flyer below). Additionally, the WIMS 6th, and 7th-8th bands will be performing at 6:00p before the high school. Come see what your students have been working so hard for! 💛💚

Today’s the day! Please help us wish our WIHS Symphonic Band good luck as they travel to Lenoir-Rhyne University 🎶💛 . The band will be competing in Music Performance Adjudication (MPA). These students have been working tirelessly since January to prepare their music 🎼💚. We are so proud of these students, and wish them well on their performance today!

*DRUMLINE AND COLORGUARD REHEARSAL*

If you are interested in joining our 2025 Drumline or Colorguard team please come to our first rehearsal after school on March 21st! All are welcome, even if this is your first year participating.

CURRENT MEMBERS
You are also expected to be at this rehearsal. This is for everyone who plans to be a part of the team this season.

If you are planning to join us, here are a few things to know beforehand:
- Rehearsal will start in the band room after school
- Rehearsal will end at 5pm so please plan accordingly
- You do not need to bring anything with you we will provide sticks/flags, etc.

***November 8th 2024 Senior Night***

Last night our band performed for the last time as we end our 2024 season! We had a great year and we are so proud of all of our students. Thank you to all of the parents, staff, and volunteers for helping us make it happen.

We also celebrated our seniors last night as they performed with their band family one last time. We want to wish them all the best in everything they do in their future!

Now to plan for our 2025 season! GO WARRIORS!
