🎪🎡 THE BIG TOP CAME TO SHARON ELEMENTARY! 🍿🤡

WOW!!! What a day!!! ❤️🖤

Our cafeteria was transformed into the BIG TOP today as we celebrated School Nutrition Week with an unforgettable CIRCUS DAY! 🎪

We're talking guessing games, a photo booth, bean bag toss, dart games, prizes, special menu items, extra snacks, and SO MUCH FUN! There were smiles everywhere, kids chanting and cheering, laughter filling the cafeteria, and even a TEMU Clown aka Mr. Darrell and his sidekick Clown Olga made appearances! 🤡😂

But the BEST part? Watching our kids experience the pure JOY of being kids! ❤️

A HUGE shout out to Miss Sue and our incredible School Nutrition team for going above and beyond to make this day so special! The creativity, planning, and LOVE that went into every little detail were simply amazing!

These are the moments our kids will remember long after they've left our hallways. We're not just serving lunches or teaching lessons. We're making memories to last a lifetime! 🥹❤️

There's just something special about Sharon Elementary, and today was another beautiful reminder of why!

🦴 No bones about it—Mrs. Sprinkle’s 3rd graders are putting their math skills to work!
Each student used a “bag of bones” candy as manipulatives today to help distinguish between multiplication and division word problems. Mrs. Sprinkle even tied the lesson into their study of the skeletal system! Math + science + a little Halloween fun = learning that sticks! 🙌

🚒🔥 Future Firefighters in the Making?! 👨‍🚒❤️🖤

Our Thunderbirds had some VERY special visitors today! The West Iredell Fire Department stopped by Sharon Elementary in celebration of Fire Prevention Month, and our students were in AWE! 🤩

From getting an up-close look at the BIG fire truck to checking out all the cool equipment firefighters use, our students were fascinated! 🚒

A HUGE thank you to the West Iredell Fire Department for taking time out of your busy day to visit our students and help them learn about fire safety!

Who knows? We may have a few future firefighters walking the halls of Sharon Elementary! 👨‍🚒🔥❤️🖤

Miss Sigmon's 4th Grade mathematicians were having a BALL learning about rounding today!

🎈 First, let's talk BALLOONS! Miss Sigmon came up with the cutest way to help students remember when to round up or down! Students held balloons to represent the digit they were rounding to. If the digit next door was 4 or less, they held on tight with their fingers, and the balloon stayed right where it was. But if that digit was 5 or greater, they released all five fingers, and UP went the balloon! What a fun, hands-on way to make rounding memorable!

💬 And the conversations! Students used conversation cards to guide their discussions during practice. They weren't just sharing answers—they were learning to explain their thinking, respectfully agree or disagree, and work together to make sense of the math. LOVE seeing those important communication and critical thinking skills in action!

🏘️ Next stop: A-ROUND the Town! Students became town planners, solving real world rounding problems connected to businesses like the barbershop and post office. Once their math is complete, they'll color their buildings and bring them together to create their very own town!

The excitement in this classroom was contagious! Creative instruction, hands on learning, meaningful student conversations, and real world application—all wrapped into one fabulous lesson!

Way to go, Miss Sigmon and our amazing 4th Grade mathematicians! This is what making learning meaningful and FUN looks like! 🎈👏❤️🖤

🧹❤️🖤 Happy Custodial Appreciation Day to the BEST custodial team on the planet! 🖤❤️🧹
We are so incredibly thankful for Darrell Elliott, Olga Guill, and Paul Comings! These three keep Sharon running, keep us sparkling, rescue us from all kinds of messes, and take care of approximately 4,782 things every day that the rest of us never even know happened. 😂
And yes, we said BEST ON THE PLANET. If you think your custodial team is better…well, you’re wrong. Sorry. We don’t make the rules. 🤷‍♀️😂
Of course, Custodial Appreciation Day could NOT be complete without an attempt to finally “get” Mr. Darrell! Mr. Mischief is always getting the rest of us, so today an emergency call went out: “Custodians needed in the mailroom—there’s water running!” 😳💦
And technically…there WAS water running. 😂😂😂
We love these three more than they know and are beyond grateful for everything they do for our students, staff, and school every single day. Darrell, Olga, and Paul—Sharon would not be Sharon without you! ❤️🖤
