The learning continues at Celeste Henkel Elementary's Summer Learning Adventure!

Our K-1 students in Mrs. Furry's group put on their scientist hats as they investigated which objects sink and which objects float. Students made predictions, tested a variety of items, and discussed their observations while learning about buoyancy and the scientific process.

Hands-on experiences like these help our young learners build critical thinking skills while having fun exploring the world around them!

Summer Learning Adventure at Celeste Henkel Elementary may be winding down, but the learning is still going strong!

Mrs. Furry's students recently explored writing CVC words using invisible ink made from good old-fashioned lemon juice. Students practiced their phonics skills while discovering the science behind this fun activity. Watching their hidden words magically appear was the perfect combination of literacy, curiosity, and hands-on learning.

Learning + Fun = A Great Summer at Celeste! 🐝📚🍋

As part of their exploration of text structures, the intermediate students in the Summer Learning Adventure at Celeste researched and discussed geysers yesterday. The lesson came to life when they created their own "geysers" through a chemical change experiment. Armed with safety goggles, students combined peroxide, water, dish soap, and active yeast to observe the exciting reaction and watch their geysers erupt. Learning through hands-on experiences made science both engaging and fun! 🌋🧪🥽

Summer Learning Adventure is in full swing! Students working with Mrs. Neufeld and Mrs. Troutman enjoyed a nature walk that blossomed into a word sort activity. Nature + Learning = Fun! 🌿🔤😊
