JEANNIE -- you showed up BIG for child care investment in North Carolina this year through our Child Care for NC coalition, and as our elected representatives continue final negotiations to pass the state budget, we need to make sure they know child care funding is still essential!

A state’s budget shows where their priorities are, and our state can’t function without quality, affordable child care, and dedicated providers making a fair wage to do that work. It will take $300 million to continue teacher pay increases we won during the pandemic through the next 2-year state budget – that’s a really small part of the overall state budget!

Take action now to keep up the fight! This Wednesday, September 6th, from 10 am to 4 pm, we’ll be participating in a storytime at the state legislature. Parents, kids, teachers, and supporters will come together in one-hour shifts to read, play, and advocate for child care funding inside the legislative building. This is a great opportunity for legislators to see the people impacted by budget decisions, and to show our young North Carolinians their state government at work.

Job requirements consist of but are not limited to; Ability to implement developmentally appropriate teaching methods/ curriculum with little supervision. Strong work ethic, Daily attendance a must, Own transportation, Direct supervision and routine care of children. Lesson planning and implementation. Completing and maintaining accurate records. Cleaning of classroom, bathrooms and toys daily. Obtaining and maintaining personal training and development. Professionalism.
