🪽 Behind the Wings: Una Telenovela ✨
🎬 On this week’s episode… meet Ms. Faustino, Oakwood Middle IB’s amazing IB Coordinator and Instructional Facilitator! 🗽 Ms. Faustino grew up in New York and New Jersey and continued her education at Penn State, the University of Nevada, Reno, and IUPUI in Indiana. The 2026–2027 school year marks an impressive 17 years in education! 🎉🍎 Why education? She has always loved working with children and helping them develop a passion for learning. And why middle schoolers? “They are capable but still shapeable. And you can be sarcastic with them.” 😂 📚 If she could return to middle school for one day: She’d head straight to ELA because she loves to read—with a quick stop in Drama class, too! 🎭 💜 The lesson she hopes every student carries with them: “Fear is never a good enough reason not to try.” 🎶 Her Oakwood entrance soundtrack: “Billie Jean” by Michael Jackson. You’ll have to ask Ms. Faustino why this particular song holds such a special place in her heart! 👀🎵🥾 Something students might be surprised to learn: She has visited 25 of our nation’s 63 National Parks—and yes, she loves hiking! 🏞️ From supporting teachers to championing the IB mission and inspiring our Nighthawks to keep learning and take chances, we’re proud to have Ms. Faustino at Oakwood Middle IB! 💜🪽

🪽 Behind the Wings: Una Telenovela ✨
🎬 On this week’s episode… meet Sra. Agudo, Oakwood Middle IB’s fabulous 6th Grade Spanish teacher! 🌴 Sra. Agudo grew up on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, where she attended Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. The 2026–2027 school year marks an incredible 16 years in education! 🎉 🍎 When did she know she wanted to teach?
At just 9 years old—although her original dream was to become a PE teacher! 😂 Why middle school? Because, in her words, “They behave better than older students.” We’ll let our Nighthawks take that win! 🏆 🧵 If she could return to middle school for one day:
She’d head straight to Home Economics, her favorite class as a student. 💜 The lesson she hopes every student carries with them: Be humble. Be respectful. 🎶 Her Oakwood entrance soundtrack: “Como Yo Nadie Te Ha Amado” by Bon Jovi. Because every great telenovela deserves an epic soundtrack! 💃 Something her students might be surprised to learn: Don’t be shocked if you walk into her classroom and find Sra. Agudo singing and dancing in Spanish! 🎤 We’re proud to have Sra. Agudo spreading language, culture, respect, and a little música throughout the halls of Oakwood! 💜🪽¡Gracias, Sra. Agudo, for being part of our Nighthawk family!
