"Agriculture is the backbone of America and the largest industry in Georgia. I hope to help students understand its importance and the career opportunities that are available. It is rewarding to me to witness student success, and Ogeechee Technical College is a great place for that to happen. When not instructing students, I enjoy working on our family farm, fishing, and spending time with family. I am truly excited to be a part of such a great team."

On July 28, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. in the Joseph E. Kennedy Auditorium, 14 dedicated students in the Practical Nursing program celebrated their achievements at Ogeechee Technical College’s biannual pinning ceremony.

"Our pinning ceremonies mark a significant achievement for our graduating students as we celebrate their accomplishments, resilience, and dedication to the nursing profession," said Angel Shuman, Practical Nursing Program Director. “We are proud of their success and look forward to the positive impact they will make in healthcare and in our community.”

Eleven students in Ogeechee Technical College’s Dental Assisting program received their pins during the program’s annual pinning ceremony, held Thursday, July 23, at 5 p.m. in the Joseph E. Kennedy Auditorium.

Program Director Yvonne Jenkins reflected on her years of preparing graduates to enter the workforce and the significance of this year’s class.

“I am always proud of our graduates, but this class is especially meaningful to me because it is the 25th class I have had the privilege of seeing complete this program,” said Jenkins. “They have not only worked incredibly hard, but they have also supported and encouraged one another every step of the way. Their dedication and teamwork have truly distinguished them.”
