β›Ί Camping Adventure Week!

The children enjoyed learning about camping through fun, hands-on activities. They created campfire arts and crafts to strengthen creativity and fine motor skills, explored patterns with marshmallows to support early math learning, and learned about nocturnal animals to build their science knowledge. The children also enjoyed making s’mores, which encouraged following directions, sensory exploration, and social interaction. It was a wonderful week of learning, discovery, and fun! 🌲πŸ”₯πŸ¦‰πŸ«

Today our summer transition students had a Fun Foodie Friday and we followed a written recipe to make our own pizzas. Students selected their toppings and assembled their pizzas. We warmed them and the children enjoyed their tasty treats! Cooking activities are a wonderful tool that incorporates reading, math, communication and social skills. Ask your child to share their cooking experience and try your own cooking fun at home!

Thank you to the Bulloch County Book Bus for visiting our STP
students yesterday! πŸ“šπŸšŒ

Our children had a wonderful time exploring the book bus and selecting books to take home and share with their families. Experiences like these help foster a love of reading and learning that extends beyond the classroom.

Thank you for taking the time to visit us and for sharing your enthusiasm for books, reading, and storytelling with our students. We appreciate all you do to encourage young readers in our community!

This week our summer transition program students have been practicing and reinforcing some core concepts to help them prepare for Kindergarten. In our small group activities the children have worked on Math and Literacy activities. We practiced identifying numbers, counting to show one to one correspondence, and solving addition problems using emoji stickers. The children also identified letters using the alphabet beanbags and practiced writing the letters using moon sand. The skills reinforcement helps them progress to higher levels of learning.

Our Summer Transition Program is off to an amazing start, and the children have begun working on the Hatch tablet program. This program allows children to progress at their own pace and integrates new learning as they work on the tablets daily. They are also able to access the program at home for additional learning time. It is a valuable teaching tool to address individual needs and provide more learning opportunities in school and at home.
