The Gates Scholarship, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, is a full-ride scholarship awarded to exceptional student leaders with outstanding academic achievement.

Jaida will join the Honors College this fall as she pursues her dream of becoming a forensic pathologist.

For recent graduate Logan Collins, her research became much more than an academic exercise. It became a deeply personal journey.

Through her Honors College thesis, Logan explored the relationship between substance use and Georgia's sh*****ng industry, combining anthropology, public health and her lived experience to better understand the challenges facing coastal communities.
