Dog owners in Statesboro came together Saturday for the first-ever “Hogs for Dogs” show, hosted by the Redeemed Riders Motorcycle Club and Downtown Statesboro Development Authority. The event featured lighthearted categories like cutest dog, best trick, and snazziest outfit, giving participants a chance to showcase their pets in a friendly competition. Around ten dogs were registered helping raise a total of $363 through entry fees and food sales. The goal of the event was to bring the community together while supporting the “Run for the Son” initiative through the Christian Motorcyclists Association. Attendees enjoyed the lively atmosphere filled with local food, family fun, and cheering crowds, while a small Shih Tzu named Olive ultimately earned the title of Best in Show. Organizers noted the strong turnout and are hoping to keep hosting events like these in the future.
