There are a lot of things that make our hearts happy at LCES, but NOTHING compares to seeing the face of a student who realizes somebody noticed.

Today, our ROAR Team surprised Avery, one of our amazing 3rd graders, with the ROARING STUDENT AWARD!

Avery is making great choices, doing the right things, and showing us what it means to ROAR. And today, we wanted to make sure he knew something:

Some spend plenty of time correcting students when they get it wrong. At LCES, we make sure we recognize them when they get it RIGHT!

We are always grateful for the people and organizations who come alongside LCES to support our students.

Today, the Statesboro Service League was on our campus providing hearing and vision screenings for some of our students. This important service is provided to students throughout Bulloch County Schools and helps identify needs that can directly impact learning and success in the classroom.

Of course, we had to have a little fun with the oversized glasses and ears! Thank you, Statesboro Service League, for your continued partnership and for investing your time in our children.

WE MISSED THE DAY…BUT NOT THE PERSON! Yesterday was International IT Professionals Day. We missed it. But we’re NOT missing the opportunity to recognize our very own Jonathan Law!

Jonathan is our TECH SUPERHERO—fixing the unexpected, solving problems, keeping us connected, and rescuing us when technology decides it simply does not want to cooperate.

A lot of what he does happens behind the scenes, but the impact of his work is felt throughout LCES every single day.

Our students and staff showed up decked out in dots of every kind! Polka dots, colorful dots, big dots, little dots, and even some pretty creative interpretations of dots!

But International Dot Day at LCES was about much more than what we wore. It was about reminding our students that they have something to contribute. Their ideas matter. Their creativity matters. Their voice matters. And they can make a difference.

We didn’t stop with our students. Our ROAR Team delivered personalized Dot Day cards to every staff member, each with a personal message recognizing the mark they make at LCES. Our homeroom teachers also received their own copy of The Dot to read and share with their students.

Because the truth is simple. People need to know that what they do matters. We are making our mark at LCES. And it is a mark that will be felt for generations to come.

SOME OF OUR BEST TEACHERS WILL NEVER BE “TEACHER OF THE YEAR.”

They simply come to LCES every day and DO THE WORK. They know their content. They teach. They build relationships. They manage their classrooms. And their students learn and grow.

Teacher of the Year is an incredible honor, but one plaque can never represent all the great teaching happening throughout our building. Some will never be selected. But students at LCES will be better because they walked through these doors every day.

And we want ALL of our teachers to know:
