Not everything that matters can be measured by charts and graphs. Sometimes, success is simply the smile on a child’s face when he realizes, “I did it!”

Ezra, one of our amazing new Pre-K students, could hardly contain his excitement as he proudly shared the positive comments on his communication log. To some, it may look like a few words on a piece of paper. To Ezra, those words meant, “I’m doing a good job!”

Before many of our students ever walk through the doors of LCES, someone has already greeted them with a smile. And long after the final bell rings, someone is still making sure they get home safely.

Our LCES Transportation Team is the first hello and the last goodbye of the school day. This morning, we left a small reminder on their buses to simply say: We see you. We appreciate you. And what you do matters. Sometimes the smallest gestures say THANK YOU in the biggest ways.

THE SUMMER READING CUP BELONGS TO OUR LIONS! Congratulations to our Langston Lions for winning the first annual Read Georgia Summer Reading Challenge between LCES and Mill Creek Elementary!

This friendly competition, sponsored by First Baptist Church Statesboro, was created with one goal—to encourage our students to keep reading throughout the summer break. Students from both schools accepted the challenge and kept those pages turning all summer long!

FBC Statesboro joined us to officially present LCES with the Summer Reading Challenge Cup! We are incredibly proud of our Lions, and we congratulate the students at Mill Creek Elementary for making it a great competition.

A HUGE thank you to Alli Baxter from Human Resources for stopping by LCES with a sweet surprise to thank us for hosting the district’s Benefits & Wellness Fair! And the surprises didn’t stop there! Our very own Ms. Tilly from our 2nd Grade Team was also presented with a wonderful prize provided by the vendors at the fair!

Thank you, Alli, and thank you to all of the vendors who helped make the Benefits & Wellness Fair such a great event. What a SWEET way to end the week at LCES!

BRING OUT THE CONFETTI! WE HAVE A SUMMER READING CHAMPION! What a way to start a Friday morning! Our partners at First Baptist Church Statesboro stopped by LCES with a BIG surprise—to announce the individual winner of the Read Georgia Summer Reading Campaign!

A HUGE congratulations to our amazing 4th grader, Kylie Humphries, who accepted the challenge and read the most books of any LCES student this summer!

Way to go, Kylie! You made us proud! Thank you, FBC Statesboro, for continuing to invest in our students and support a love of reading at LCES!

Some questions are just too important not to be asked!

Today, our students had the opportunity to welcome our new Superintendent, Dr. White, to LCES. We decided to surprise him with a few “special requests,” and let’s just say… he never saw it coming!

The smiles, laughter, and priceless reactions made his visit one to remember. Thank you, Dr. White, for being such a great sport and for taking time to spend with our students. We appreciate your support of LCES and look forward to a fantastic year together!

WE’RE OUT OF IDEAS FOR SIGNS… SO WE JUST TOLD THE TRUTH! This morning, our LCES staff grabbed a little First Pitch Fuel before the first bell rang. Whether it was coffee, an energy drink, or water, everyone stopped by to fuel up for Opening Day.

A special thank you to Ellianos Coffee Company of Statesboro for helping us kick off the day with some amazing coffee. Your generosity gave our staff the perfect boost to start the school year, and we truly appreciate your support of LCES!

Every Great Journey Deserves a Grand Opening! At LCES, we believe every new beginning deserves to be celebrated. Today, our newest teachers officially opened the doors to their very first LCES classrooms with a First Classroom Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.

It was a special way to celebrate the start of a new chapter and welcome them to our school family. We can’t wait to see the impact they’ll make as they inspire, encourage, and help every child achieve. Welcome to LCES, and here’s to an incredible first year!
