Would like to start off by saying thank you to everyone, especially to my parents for continuing to trust us with your most valuable processions❤️ to my community for donating candy, their time, and monetary support ❤️ it truly turned out nice for a last minute idea. Ant bites

We have a lot of patients calling our nurse line this week with ant bites. Here is some care advice if your child finds themselves covered in ant bites:

*For pain relief, you can give acetaminophen or ibuprofen as needed.
*For relief of itching, apply 1% hydrocortisone cream. Use 3 times per day. No prescription is necessary.
*For severe itching or swelling, give Benadryl by mouth. No prescription is needed.
*By 24 hours, a small blister will form over the sting. Do not open them. If you open the blisters, they often become infected. Left alone, they usually dry up within 4 days. If the blisters break open, apply an antibiotic ointment. No prescription is necessary. Use 3 times per day to prevent skin infections. Continue for 1 to 2 days.
*Expect itching to last up to one week. Normal swelling from ant venom can increase for 24 hours following the sting. The redness can last 3 days and the swelling can last 7 days.
