Congratulations to Georgia Southern alumnus Tony Emetu, who recently presented his research at the International Academy of Business and Public Administration Disciplines conference in Milan, Italy! Tony’s research focuses on vital strategies higher education leaders can use to strengthen and sustain faculty motivation. 📚💡

As a proud Double Eagle, holding an MBA in Management ('10) and an M.Ed. in Evaluation, Assessment, Research and Learning ('24), Tony shares how his Eagle experience prepared him for the international stage:

"My MBA provided the management foundation that informed my presentation, while my education and applied research training strengthened my ability to critically examine scholarly literature and translate research findings into practical strategies for higher education leaders."

The 8.33 Campaign is designed to help students who face financial (and life) hardships through the Keep HOPE Alive Program. This program helps students get back on track to graduate through a semester-long program which helps them get their HOPE scholarship back. ⭐

"As the daughter of Jamaican parents, I was raised to believe that whatever is meant for me will be mine."

Alumna Alysa Clarke ('26) left the comfort of her home to pursue a degree in biochemistry on the pre-med track at Georgia Southern. While earning her degree, Alysa became a research assistant for cancer therapeutics and drug synthesis, presented research at multiple science conferences and became a published scientific co-author. 🧪

Alysa says if there is one thing Georgia Southern really gave her, it was a heart for people. Under her leadership of the National Society of Black Women in Medicine, the organization earned Student Organization of the Year. Alysa also served on Student Government Association and volunteered abroad in Costa Rica. 🤝

"To Georgia Southern—thank you for becoming my home away from home."

Classes are starting back soon...here's a glimpse of campus life in 1968. Looks a little different, right? ☮️

Alumnus Zachary Vincent ('21) had never thought about the Peace Corps being a possibility for him after college. After meeting with a recruiter at one of the career fairs, he knew he wanted to volunteer after graduation.

His recent work has taken him to the Eastern Region of Ghana, where he is serving as a Sustainable Agriculture Volunteer. Since arriving, Zachary has helped the school establish a garden where fruits and vegetables are grown. He has also started teaching at the school. 📚

Zachary says he wouldn't be here without the support from his professors, especially Dr. Christopher Brown.

"My time in Statesboro really shaped me to want to help others and hope it does the same for others. Go Eagles and Hail Southern!" 🦅
