For those of you who had the opportunity to take a class with Dr. Pugh, you undoubtedly recall how approachable he could make higher level concepts for undergrads. I am very saddened to learn of his passing and wish his family peace during this time of transition for them.

We are sorry to report that our friend and colleague, Dr. James Pugh, passed away during the night following a long illness. He began teaching at Georgia Southern in 1995, and became an emeritus professor when he retired in 2015. His office door was always open to students; the highlight of his day was the chance to talk with students. And he was often the highlight of their day.

We will miss you, Dr. Pugh. Rest in peace.

Dear Psi Chi members,

Tomorrow from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. is the fall renewal workshop for organizations who intend on being active for this academic year. Each organization is required to have 4 members to attend this meeting. At the moment, we only have 2 Psi Chi members committed to going. If there is anyone who can take time out of their schedule tomorrow to attend, please message me as soon as possible.

"I hope you all will join the Psychology Club; this note is to give you info about joining Psi Chi as well.

"If you meet the qualifications below -- or are pretty sure that you do -- please stop by my office in Brannen 1036, the building next to the baseball stadium.
You will find a form on my door to apply for Psi Chi membership. The deadline for returning the form (under my office door will work) is September 17th, a Monday.

"See you at the next meeting on September 12th at 5:15 in Carroll 2266, where we will elect the remaining Psi Chi officers! You do not have to be a current member of Psi Chi to be elected, but you should have returned your completed application and emailed me privately to confirm your eligibility by noon on September 10th."
