Nice to see Michael Grimm and Bloomberg in Eltingville today on the anniversary of Sandy.
Looking for trained/ skilled folk to put in floors and Sheetrock a home. This has to be pro bono or incredibly cheap. Any leads would be fantastic, we'd love to get this man back in his home finally.
The physical going to OK today fell through - the truck bailed on us last night. We still have funds and a chance to go if anyone can help out with driving and trucks etc. I will go in June. My housemate is from there and had a lot of bad news so will go asap.
But here's my plan for remote help:
GIVE MY NUMBER TO ANYONE THAT NEEDS IT. I was like a hotline during sandy for residents, volunteers, anyone. I'll try to connect dots, get people to the right contacts and resources, locations. I"ll direct them to where needed or just be a voice on the phone. It was extremely effective during Sandy.
