This page is to enlighten elementary school teachers on Staten Island that How America Was Born is back in business on a part time basis. No buses needed.
In-house school trip - to your classroom. No need for classroom disruption. All classes performed on an age appropriate level.
In 2014, after 20 years of service, I retired from performing my beloved How America Was Born. Recently, my daughter Jennifer volunteered to perform How America Was Born on a part time basis. I am so proud of her.
How America Was Born will perform "The Popcorn Story" for any Kindergarten through 3rd grade class on Staten Island. We have costumes for every child and every child can participate in the story. It is hands on and finishes with an environmental project, a bird feeder. We actually make popcorn in the classroom and find out why it pops. The popcorn story is EDUCATIONAL and includes history, science and map skills.
