When I speak about seasons here, I am not referring to natureâs calendar. I am describing my experience living through depression and emotional extremes.
Winter was not only darkness for me. It was the time I went inward and worked on myself. It became a building season. A period of repair. I was strengthening something inside that had been carrying weight for months or even years.
Spring was the return. Energy resurfacing. Awareness expanding. A sense of sprouting back into myself.
Summer reflected the brighter stretches when everything felt open, warm, and almost childlike in its ease.
Fall carried a different meaning. It was the shedding of versions of myself that had grown and healed. Letting go of what no longer needs to be carried. Making space for what came next.
These were lived emotional realities, not poetic cycles.

Through struggle and healing, I began connecting the dots.
These actions were not random outlets.
There were ways of processing and moving emotion when language was unavailable.
My path has never been linear. It moved through kitchens, hospitals, studios, workshops, and communities I never predicted.
Yet one thing stayed constant.
My hands.
My perspective.
My ability to translate experience into something tangible.
Before I could speak about this work, I lived it.
Food became my voice.
Art became my voice.
Nature became my voice.
They carried expression for me long before I spoke directly.

The places where the surface feels almost still, as if the motion has paused without stopping. Elsewhere, subtle paths form where color has moved and settled over time. No single layer dominates. What came earlier remains visible, even when partially obscured by what followed.
The eye doesnât settle in one place for long. It moves, drifts, and returns, noticing different intersections each time. The piece doesnât suggest a beginning or an ending. It feels like being inside a moment where multiple states coexist â motion and rest, lightness and weight, clarity and depth â all held within the same space.

That kind of presence is uncomfortable, especially if you learned that movement was how you stayed safe. If you learned that fixing, managing, performing, or pushing through was how you avoided collapse. When effort has been your default, stillness can feel like risk.
But staying present without forcing anything requires a different kind of strength.

Sometimes the hardest part of healing is saying the quiet thing out loudâthe truth youâve been carrying for years.
So let me start here, honestly. I grew up in the hospitality worldâfast-paced, demanding, and, for a young woman in the early 2000s, unforgiving. I learned how to hustle, stay silent, overwork, and survive.
And like many of you, I carried those patterns into adulthood without even realizing it. But survival eventually catches up with you.
Your body whispers first.
Then it screams.
Thatâs where everything shifted.
Art became the place I exhaled. Mindfulness became the place I softened. Emotional intelligence became the place I finally learned to understand myselfânot judge myself.
Every tool I teach todayâthrough Art Flow Mind Body, my workshops, my courses, and my creative workâis something I had to learn the hard way.
I rebuilt from the inside out, and in that rebuilding, I found the work I was meant to do.
