Easterly Parkway Summer Updates:
We are STARS everywhere we go! Keep a look out in the community over the summer. You can earn STAR tickets at these local businesses:
Boalsburg Car Company

Discovery Space
Growing Tree
Jana Marie Foundation
The Makery

At Easterly Parkway, our STAR behavior celebrations are always a team effort—and no one embraces the fun quite like Mr. Darryl! As a reward for earning the most STARs at lunch, our winning students had the unforgettable opportunity to shave Mr. Darryl's hair into a mohawk and dye it bright blue. Thank you, Mr. Darryl, for being such a great sport and for showing our students that celebrating positive behavior can be both meaningful and memorable. You're a true STAR!
Homework assignments- Have Fun!
Summer doesn't need to look like school to help children keep learning. Reading together for a few minutes each day, talking about books, counting objects while shopping or cooking, playing board games, and finding opportunities to practice simple math in everyday life all help build important skills. Most importantly, spend time together, explore new places, ask questions, and have fun. The memories children make and the conversations they have with the adults who care about them are some of the most powerful learning experiences of all.
Here are few resources to check out if you are interested:
Schlow library has a Summer Reading Program. Your student’s librarian will have sent you additional information about this program.

Our ELD students make EP bright!
Miss Ollendyke's English Language Development classes helped Ms. Becca with planting "Generosity Gardens" to give smiles back to our EP community. Students dug in the dirt, painted garden rocks, and added plant stakes with LOVE written in all the languages spoken at EP. We hope you smile each time you pass these beautiful planters!

During the month of May, Easterly Parkway Elementary students participated in the Super Great Cafeteria Challenge! Together, each class worked to earn STARs by showing kindness, taking responsibility, acting safely, and being ready to learn in the cafeteria.
The class that earned the most STARs got to shave and dye Mr. Darryl's hair during the all-school assembly, and the grade level that earned the most STARs earned an hour of playtime with the Jana Marie Foundation.
As a school, students earned more than 250 STARs and, as a reward, got to "Slide Into Summer" on an inflatable slide!
Way to go, Easterly Parkway!

All of Easterly Parkway students, staff and teachers worked together to create a hanging mural above the stairway! Each individual created their own drawing square responding to a prompt:
What does it mean to spread kindness in our school community?
And all of the squares were assembled together to make one collaborative piece of art!
