This freshman phenom is a multi event pursuant! Making strong headway in the vault, hurdles and jumps! Ella Raish has climbed onto the SCTF All-Time lists in both the pole vault and 100m hurdles. She is close in the jumps. She qualified for the Freshman section of both the hurdles and vault at New Balance nationals. In the vault she made to podium with her 5th place finish! Her quiet demeanor belies a competitive aggression that is readily seen when it’s go time! Big things ahead for Ella!

Under normal circumstances each of these kids would get their own post. But, there’s nothing normal about this dynamic duo. Do they have good potential? Ahh… probably… how good? Ahhh… real good… Saige Cunningham and Alyssa Woskob are two of the best freshman horizontal jumpers in SCTF history. Saige has the furthest triple jump (38-3.5) and Woskob has the furthest Long jump (17-7.5) for a SCTF 9th grader. Add to that Saige has a long jump of 17-3.5 and Woskob a triple of 36-1 and they have a good deal of promise. They are also two of the most “interesting” and nicest kids you’ll meet. Their enthusiasm for their teammates is unbridled. You will always see them cheering for teammates and each other. Rarely a day goes by where they don’t do something that borderlines on hysterical. Preferably not scooter related… Woskob was also a member of the SCTF medal winning 4x200m at the indoor state meet. Both made the podium of districts while Saige qualified for the State Championships. They both also qualified and competed in the Freshman long jump at indoor nationals and the Freshman triple jump at outdoor nationals. Where Saige made the podium with her 6th place finish. There are promising 9th graders every year. We’ll just have to wait and see if this duo can truly become dynamic! But, if I had to guess, using only one word, I would whole heartedly say, ahhh… probably…

The SCTF Girls 4x4 was the complete & quintessential example of the “US” mentality!!! A relay consists of 4 runners but it takes 6-8 runners to push the relay as a whole to success. Such was the case with the SCTF Girls 4x4 this year. There were 6-8 athletes who could toe the line at any given moment and it took them all to push the unit to a 4th place medal at the State Championship and to qualify for Nationals. With the brass of a river boat gambler, their 3:53.92 effort to capture a fourth place medal and podium spot at the State Championship. Olivia Myers (9th grade), Evie Younkin (10th grade), Kamille Peachey (11th grade) and Sadie Kocher (11th grade) formed SCTF’s second fastest ever 4x400m relay! This fearsome foursome was further backed by Lauren Craft and Jordyn Wilson. This group pushed each other and fought to claim a district 4x4 title and State Medal. They culminated their season with a great effort at nationals! CONGRATS GIRLS! And Congrats Coach D, Coach Jackson and Coach Davidson!

This week the SCASD School Board honored Alyssa Lipski for winning the PIAA State Title in the Discus. Thank you SCASD School Board for recognizing Alyssa’s amazing accomplishment! The story behind the story is just as impressive. It can’t be stated enough the power of Alyssa’s determination. In February she sustained an ankle injury with an initial bleak prognosis. But, Alyssa wouldn’t take no for an answer. She doubled down on her training and rehab and was back at it before April. Whether 4AM van rides to Philly or throwing in the cold rain, Alyssa is always in the game!!!

“Competitive aggression”… “ABC”… “US”… “Never turn down a mission”… just some of the credos of SCTF and the complete embodiment of the All-American Sprint Medley team of , Kami Peachey, Lauren Craft, Sadie Kocher and Evie Younkin. They were in the 3rd section and had to survive 5-6 additional sections to see if they got that coveted podium spot. The wind was fierce that day my friends. Many couldn’t handle the gale forces while jockeying for position. But our kids cut their teeth in the gustiest of circumstances at the South Track. It was truly a dramatic afternoon as relay after relay seemed to be ahead of our pace but faltered over the final third of the race. For the better part of an hour SCTF had a target on their backs but they weathered the storm during their race, winning their heat and weathered the waiting game as well. When the day was done the SCTF Girls’ Sprint Medley Relay team captured the final place on the podium, earning the final All-American spot! CONGRATS KAMI PEACHEY, LAUREN CRAFT, SADIE KOCHER and anchor EVIE YOUNKIN!!! When it was all said and done there was only one thing left on the agenda, milkshake time!!! CONGRATS GIRLS!!! CONGRATS COACH D!!! CONGRATS COACH JACKSON!!! CONGRATS COACH DAVIDSON!!!

The King has gone, long live the King! With King Houser graduating, he passed the crown to a new king. Long live King Clemons! CJ Clemons did not just burst onto the throws scene, the 11th grader was inevitable. The consummate teammate and crucial member of not just the throws squad but also of “The Van” rides, CJ had one of the biggest breakout seasons of the year. Setting the school record in the shot with a heave of 57-2.25 to surpass Erik Ebel’s 11 year old school record. CONGRATS to Ebel and a big congrats to CJ! CJ is not just a thrower he is a fun kid with a sharp wit. As is the typical case with our throwers. CJ captured the district title and proved he’s one to watch in the future. When your two older cousins happen to be two of the best ever SCTF Athletes there can be a bit of pressure. However, CJ has made is own mark and scoffs at any pressure, cause the King stays the King! And one of these days he will also be the van ride “Games of Hungers” tournament champion! This exciting athlete will be one to watch next year! CONGRATS CJ and CONGRATS COACH KAUFFMAN!!!

Evie Younkin is one of the most determined SCTF Athletes in the game. One might say SCTF is in her nature and nurture, as a member of a SCTF family that’s part of the SCTF family... She has already racked up state medals, climbed into the top tiers SCTF All-Time, joined the Sub 5 club, been key member of state medaling relays, hit the deck to get back up even better, been part of All-American SMR relay but still needs her big sister to drive her around. While her accolades are that of a seasoned veteran, Evie Younkin just finished the 10th grade. This seemingly quiet kid lets her actions do her talking. Whether running around the deck on a vacation cruise or being all in for the gingerbreading game this kid is locked in on the course ahead of her. Evie’s performance on a cold wet day at the state championship earned her two medals and some personal bests is a testament to her competitive aggression. CONGRATS EVIE!!! CONGRATS COACH D!!! Thank you and CONGRATS YOUNKINS!

It’s cheek pinchin’ time! Ladies and gentlemen we’re talking about the Gilded Girl of Speed, Sadie Kocher! Sadie broke her own school record in the 200m with a time of 24.85!! Making her the first SCTF athlete to break the 25 second barrier!! Sadie finished her junior year ranking 3rd in the 100m and 6th in the 400m SCTF ALL-TIME! We could see those records fall. Sadie can do it all! Well, her sister does need to help her with a thing or two… But when Sadie Kocher is in a relay hold onto your hats because Elvis is headed to the bingo game and she’ll take her leave! Sadie was part of the SCTF State medaling 4x200m indoors and the 4x400m outdoors. Sadie would enter the national stage in dramatic fashion with the Sprint Medley Relay! CONGRATS SADIE! CONGRATS COACH JACKSON & COACH DAVIDSON!!!!

What to say about Lydia… For starters, Lydia Tate is one of the most dynamic athletes to matriculate through SCTF. She has multiple state medals in multiple events. She medaled in the discus last year and the shot this year. She is a multiple time school record breaker. She ranks in the top two SCTF All-Time in Shot & Jav to go along with her school record in the discus. But that is about the least interesting thing about ole Lydia. You see, Lydia is also perhaps the most dynamic personality to wear a SCTF uniform! Lydia’s coup de grâce came at Nationals. She unloaded with a few beastly throws culminating in a heave of 149-0.75!!!!! Lydia finished 6th earning her All-American status, a trip to the podium and a very befitting crown. To round out her Senior year of SCTF Lydia was an Anne Infield Award Winner!!! CONGRATS LYDIA and CONGRATS COACH KAUFFMAN!!!!
