This page provides information for organizations wishing to hold events or to anyone wishing to attend events.

In an attempt to raise awareness and spread the message of savethefrogs.com, this page provides all the information needed to plan an event, join the organization, or just learn more about saving the frogs in general. It was my hope to combine all the information in one place that would allow users to see the progress of Save the Frogs Pa and offer there suggestions and insights in how to help this chapter grow.

PLEASE TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO CONTACT YOUR STATE REPRESENTATIVE!!!!!

The Pennsylvania House of Representatives soon will vote on House Bill 1576, a bill that limits the ability of State wildlife agencies to protect declining species and important wild trout streams.

The Nature Conservancy's PA Chapter joined two dozen of the State's leading conservation, environmental, and sportsmen's groups in opposing this bill. (Please refer to the letter attached to this email)

You can add your voice by urging your State Representative to vote NO on House Bill 1576--legislation that weakens efforts to protect Pennsylvania's most vulnerable wildlife and sensitive wild trout streams.

House Bill 1576 creates the potential for lengthy delays in designating wildlife species as Threatened or Endangered, and it raises the possibility that these decisions could be based on criteria other than scientific data about the species. In addition, the bill would remove many vulnerable species from consideration during the review of environmental permit applications--species that are in trouble, but not yet listed as Threatened or Endangered--species like Northern Goshawk, Barn Owl and Prothonotary Warbler.

With your calls or emails, you can let your State Representative know that protecting Pennsylvania's streams, fish and wildlife is important to you. Here's a link you can use to find your legislator and/or locate contact information: http://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/legis/home/findyourlegislator/index.cfm

Please take a moment as soon as you can to contact your State Representative and urge him/her to oppose House Bill 1576. And if you could reply to this email to let us know what action you may have taken so we can keep track, it would be most appreciated. Feel free to let me know too if you have any questions and/or would like more information.

Thank you for joining us in this important work, and for all you do for nature every day.
