☆Artist Feauture: Alyssa Tombs☆

Alyssa Tombs (she/her) is a junior from New Jersey majoring in Advertising and minoring in Latin. She has been writing poetry since 2012, and her work is heavily inspired by nature, nostalgia, and romance, as well as other poets such as Richard Siken and William Carlos Williams. She also has 5 poems published in Penn State’s literary magazine Kalliope.

We have extended the deadline for our winter edition to December 15th! The theme for this year's winter issue is Black Lives Matter. We are looking to use our platform to amplify and highlight Black creatives within the greater Philadelphia community. We accept fiction, poetry, nonfiction, art, and hybrid work. In light of the Breonna Taylor candlelight vigil tonight, WORDS will be postponing the first slam of the Fall 2020 Slam Series. The vigil will be taking place tonight at 8pm at the MLK plaza. We encourage you to participate in this event and stand in solidarity with the Black community.
