State College Area High School's Technology Student Association (TSA) chapter attended the 48th National Technology Student Association Conference in Washington, D.C. from June 22-26, 2026. Twenty-four State High students traveled to Nationals to compete alongside more than 9,500 students. The chapter left with its strongest results in recent years, with the following achievements: Natalie Branstetter was elected to serve as the National TSA Secretary for the 2026-2027 school year as part of the National TSA Officer Team. National Champions (three 1st-place teams): Structural Design and Engineering (Riyaz Giri, Scott Isbell), Technology Bowl (Sam Naavada, Vanessa Weeseman, Scott Isbell), and Virtual Reality Simulation (Benny Gulis, Maggie Gulis). National Runner-Up (one 2nd-place team): Senior Solar Sprint (Benny Gulis, Riyaz Giri). National Third (one 3rd-place individual): Promotional Design (Sophia Seidel). Additional top 10 national finalists include: Audio Podcasting (4th place), Biotechnology Design (4th place), Fashion Design and Technology (5th place), Extemporaneous Speech (6th place), Manufacturing Prototype (6th place), Data Science and Analytics, Team 1 (7th place), Chapter Team (9th place), STEM Mass Media (9th place), Animatronics (10th place), Data Science and Analytics, Team 2 (10th place), and Geospatial Technology (10th place). We are so proud of how the State High chapter represented the school, district, and Pennsylvania on the national stage. Thank you to the families, staff, and broader SCASD community who supported our chapter this year! Special thanks to parent volunteer Sam Seidel, who stepped up to guide and support the team throughout the competitions. Attached is the State High TSA group photo.

14 State High students traveled to San Antonio, Texas from June 29-July 3 to compete at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference (NLC). The conference welcomed nearly 20,000 students and advisors from across the country for several days of competition, leadership development, networking, and unforgettable experiences.

The competition was highlighted by Suhnjun Choi earning 6th place in the nation in Introduction to Parliamentary Procedure and David Ulmer advancing to the finals in Career Portfolio.

Beyond the competition, students got the opportunity to explore the culture of San Antonio, from the iconic River Walk to the Alamo and the Tex-Mex cuisine. It was an unforgettable experience to grow and make new memories.

Participation in the National Leadership Conference is a great accomplishment that reflects dedication and hard work. The following students represented State High at the 2026 FBLA National Leadership Conference: Luke Alexander, Bianca Canepari, Suhnjun Choi, Max Cooper, Baird Murray-Wright, Eeshan Pan, Jack Rivera, Callie Robinson, Laurel Sanchez, Caitlyn Tan, David Ulmer, Shannon Wang, Amber Yang, Yidi Zhan, Sergei Zhdanov and advisor Ryan Myers.

Congratulations to the ten State College Little Lions FFA members who represented our FFA chapter in six competition areas at the 2026 Pennsylvania State Convention, held on PSU's University Park Campus from June 9-11th.

Individual competitors include: Lisel Perles-LeClear- Aquatics (14th place), Katie Coopey- Livestock Evaluation (13th place), Gabriella Harpster- Milk Quality & Products (12th place) and Emanuel Luebbert- Wildlife (56th place)

Team competitors include: Jacob Everhart & Everett Klinger- Small Engines (14th place), Olivia Mrozinski, Ava Mrozinski, Ava Pieszala and Charlotte Lentz- Veterinary Science (12th place)

Additionally, Jacob Everhart was recognized on stage as the Pennsylvania winner in the Proficiency Area of Turf & Landscape.

State College Little Lions FFA alumni, Jaylene Everhart (class of 2025), wrapped up her year of service as the Pennsylvania FFA State Chaplain. Our administrative team, including Dr. Ben Mordan, Mrs. Laura Tobias, Dr. Jonathan Bucher, Dr. Danielle Yoder, Mrs. Susan Hipp, and Mrs. Tanya Anderson along with Ag Science Teacher, Mrs. Morgan Inhoof were recognized on stage for their support of Jaylene.

We are so proud of the hard work, dedication and passion that our students exhibited this week! Congratulations to all!
