Bellefonte is a very old town in central Pennsylvania with a remarkable history and remarkable Victorian architecture. The Bush Hotel was Built in 1868 and 1869 by Daniel G Bush, the Bush House was one of the first hotels in the country to have electric lights. Coming to Bellefonte in 1856 as a map salesman, Mr. Bush decided to stay. Between 1865 and 1873 he constructed nearly twenty-seven (27) buildings, including the Bush House, as part of a post-Civil War boom. There was a restaurant in the basement level with outdoor seating overlooking Spring Creek

The Bush House was destroyed by fire on February 8, 2006.
