C3 Kids Family,

The safety and well-being of every child in our care is, and always will be, our highest priority.

Yesterday afternoon (Tue 07/07), a child participating in our summer camp made comments that were immediately recognized as concerning by our staff. Following our established safety procedures, the matter was promptly reported to our administrative team and subsequently thoroughly investigated. The child was previously not scheduled to attend camp today (07/08) or tomorrow (07/09).

Our administration spoke to the child, their family and shared the situation with our law enforcement partners at the State College Police Department. We are also in the process of reporting the incident to other appropriate child welfare authorities.

Based on our investigation and in consultation with law enforcement, the reported comments have been determined to not represent a credible threat. However, out of an abundance of caution for all involved and in accordance with our safety policies, the child involved will not be permitted to return to C3 Kids Summer Camp.

We understand that many parents became aware of this situation through social media and other conversations before we were able to complete our investigation and communicate with families directly. We apologize for the delay in our communication. Please know that our team has been actively addressing this matter since it was first reported, and at no time did we believe the children in our care were in immediate danger.

We appreciate the parents who brought their concerns directly to us. We encourage families to continue communicating with our administrative staff whenever questions or concerns arise so we can respond promptly and accurately.

At C3 Kids, we take every report involving the safety of children seriously. We remain committed to maintaining a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for every child and will continue to work closely with our staff and law enforcement whenever concerns arise.
