We braved the rain today for our back to school BBQ. This is one of our chapter’s favorite events to kick off the school year for a chance to mingle, meet new members, and inform those in the community about our chapter and its members. A huge thank you Sarah Holland, Clover Bloom Farms, and our FFA Alumni!!

We have our final results from the 2026 Iowa State Fair FFA Performance Beef. Joe Smith exhibited 3 steers in 3 different divisions that are based on the carcass of the steer. Joe showed the steer in the live show and then the steers were taken to harvest to have the carcass judged too. Joe received a Blue Ribbon in Window A, Red Ribbon in Window B, and a Blue Ribbon and 5th place Produce. Congrats Joe

We also want to share a HUGE accomplishment for Paytin Peterson as her whether was chosen as the Overall Champion Market Lamb for the FFA market show. This is an accomplishment all showman work towards and Paytin has worked very hard to get here, her hard work and dedication have shown in a tremendous way. Congratulations Paytin!!

Another great day of showing for our members!
In the sheep barn Hannah Frahm, Lucas Fraham and Henry McCollom, Hattie McCollom and Paytin Peterson showed their sheep and placed well in their classes with some moving on to place first and second in their respective classes.
In swine Landrey Peterson received reserve champion tamworth market hog, and Cole Klein received overall champion tamworth market hog, along with many blues and purples for both our swines howman.
And to round it out Benton Edler and Cole Klein showed during the beef show!!
Great job today to all of our members and also a huge shout out to Jackson Walker for helping at multiple shows throughout this week!!

Members had a great first day showing at the Iowa State fair!
Alina Goldie started us off with the poultry show her results are the following Champion overall breeding stock & champion AOCCL, Champion bantam duck and champion waterfowl, and Champion feather leg.
Landrey Peterson also showed during today’s swine showman ship and was selected as a senior showman finalist!

A successful day for our swine showman today to wrap up the fair!!
Landrey Peterson:
Champion breeding gilt and Champion purebred breeding gilt, Champion Market gilt and Champion market hog

Cole Kline:
Champion commercial gilt and reserve overall breeding gilt. Champion crossbred barrow and reserve overall market hog.

As we wind down the school year our horticulture class had the chance to revamp one of our greenhouse flower beds. Students pulled weeds around the garden bed and greenhouse, added in new soil, and added in some flowers from our greenhouse!!🌼🌸
