We believe that if we are passionately motivated to teach and view all children as having the ability to succeed, then the students will gain the motivation they need to be successful. We work long hours with our students to help them figure out what motivates them to be successful academically as well as being good people. Moreover, we realize that if we are not motivated to educate, we cannot expect our students to learn and be involved and participate in class. Students are more likely to be motivated if the teacher allows them to take part of the teaching process and if the teacher is willing to do what we ask the students to do. We believe that if we let our students know that we care about what is going on in their lives, teaching is endless, and it goes far beyond reading, writing, and arithmetic. When the pressures of life are not so heavy on the student that the student receives information much easier, and the information is more likely to be retained. We allow time for the students to discuss how our personal journeys in life may assist someone else in his/her journey through life. On the other hand, if a student does not see the importance in life’s values and obstacles then it will be hard for them to use their experiences as a positive tool for someone else. We do not believe that we do anything that is particularly exceptional in our facility besides teaching. We firmly believe that students should not only learn the material being presented, but they also need to learn life’s lessons as well as lesson objectives. In our opinion a teacher’s job is not complete unless we teach children how to care, respect others and themselves, think positively and learn to share their life’s experiences to help someone else. This alone has helped our students to be motivated about life and learning. We are always honest with our students about life so that they can and will be honest with us. We believe that God allows individuals to go through such challenges in life so that they can bless another life through their own. That statement is the essence of teaching. We have a passion to see children learn and be successful. Teachers should attempt to teach and reach the whole child; otherwise, they have not accomplished much. Most importantly, we communicate with parents about how their children are performing. We call parents when students misbehave, as well as, when their children are doing well and improving. Lastly, every day we try to let each of our students know that we care about them and we are fighting for their lives right along with them. Overall, our philosophy is to simply love what we do as educators and to attempt to motivate, cultivate, cherish, teach and love the whole child. We try to touch each student’s life and leave our signatures on his/her heart.
