Our directors had a wonderful and fulfilling summer conference in Oxford! Thanks to the leadership who made it possible and to all of our choir director friends across the state! Choral music is alive and well in Mississippi!!

Yay, Cathryn!

Rounding out our Teen delegates is Cathryn Ryder, Miss Starkville Teen. Cathryn is no stranger to Team Starkville as that she served as Little Miss Starkville Hospitality to Miss Starkville Hospitality Kathryn Stringer. Cathryn is a rising sophomore at Starkville High School where she is a member of the award winning Starkville High School Cheerleading squad. Some of her accomplishments include being named a UCA All-American cheerleader, Cheerleading State Champion, member of Junior Auxiliary Crown Club, and being awarded Student of the Month. She also wrote a gluten free cookbook, Cooking with Cat. A few interesting facts about Cathryn is that she wants a pickle birthday cake, her favorite song is the Star Spangled Banner, and she has moved 8 times. Cathryn's community service initiative is "Safe Plate". This was created to raise awareness for celiac disease and to create inclusive environments for every child. For her talent presentation, Cathryn will be doing an acro jazz routine to "Congo". We have very much enjoyed working with Cathryn over the last several months and are excited to see her shine on the Miss Mississippi Teen stage this week.
