Meet Lessie Vickers, our President for Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow at Mississippi State University!

🎤 Major: AELC (Communications Concentration)
🌎 Minor: International Agricultural Education
📚 Year: Senior

Career Goal:
Lessie plans to work as a communications specialist in the agricultural industry, using her skills to effectively share the story of agriculture.

What she has learned at MSU:
"The biggest thing I’ve learned is the importance of pushing myself outside of my comfort zone. I’ve found that I’m capable of much more than I once thought. Mississippi State University has been a crucial factor in both my personal and professional development."

Impact of ACT:
"Through my role as President of ACT, I’ve learned the importance of taking initiative and leading with purpose. I’ve also built meaningful friendships with fellow officers, and I feel very fortunate to be part of this organization alongside them."

Meet Sophia Owens, our Vice President for Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow at Mississippi State University!

🎤 Major: AELC (Communications Concentration)
🌎Minor: International Agri-tourism
📚 Year: Senior

Career Goal:
Sophie intends to apply her degree in agricultural communications to inform and educate consumers about agriculture and the policies that shape it.

What she’s learned at MSU:
"I have developed strong independence and critical thinking skills during my time at Mississippi State University through both my coursework and personal experiences. I’ve learned to approach problems from multiple perspectives in order to find effective solutions. Through my major, I have also gained a deep sense of professionalism and learned how to channel my creativity into my work as both a journalist and a designer."

"My experience in ACT has strengthened my leadership abilities and empowered me to confidently apply my creativity to my future career."
