📱 TECH TIP TUESDAY: PUBLIC WI-FI

☕ Public Wi-Fi is convenient, but it isn’t always safe! Here are 5 tips to protect yourself when connecting to public networks.

1. 🔒 Avoid sensitive activities
Avoid logging into your bank account or entering sensitive information while using public Wi-Fi.

2. ✅ Verify the network
Make sure you’re connecting to the official Wi-Fi network. Fake networks can be created to steal your information.

3. 🔐 Look for HTTPS
Before entering personal information on a website, check that the URL starts with https://.

4. 🚫 Turn off auto-connect
Disable automatic Wi-Fi connections so your device doesn’t connect to unfamiliar networks without your knowledge.

5. 🛡️ Use a VPN
A trusted VPN can help protect your internet traffic when using public Wi-Fi.

✨ Remember: When in doubt, use your mobile data instead!

🔐 Cybersecurity Month Tip: Strengthen Your Passwords with Passphrases

A strong password is one of the easiest ways to protect your online accounts.

Instead of using a single word, try a passphrase made up of multiple unrelated words, numbers, and symbols. Passphrases are easier to remember and much harder for cybercriminals to crack.

✅ The longer a password, the stronger it is
✅ Easy for you to remember
✅ Harder for hackers to guess

Take a few minutes today to review your passwords and upgrade them to strong passphrases.
