š¢ Introducing our Social Media Manager for the 25-26 school year. . . Emily Boyd!
This summer, Emily interned at a church in Salmon, Idaho. While she wasnāt specifically in a natural resources field, she still had the opportunity to explore the ecology of different ecosystem structures and species out West. Moreover, she was able to learn more about how both natural and prescribed fire can impact an ecosystem and inform management decisions.
When asked why she wanted to join FireDawgs, Emily said, āI wanted to learn more about prescribed fire because I felt like I wasnāt learning enough about it in my classes. I thought FireDawgs would be the perfect opportunity to gain experience with fire and gain a better understanding of how it can be used for wildlife management. Spoiler alert: FireDawgs fulfilled both of those expectations!ā
