Good morning BMS Band!
Announcements for this week:

-Band pictures: Feb 8th (please bring under uniform shirt to school with you and beginning band wear your gray band shirt)
-Wind Ensemble Rehearsal: 2/2 will be woodwinds only from 3:45-4:45pm
-Symphonic Band Rehearsal: 2/3 will be everyone
-At a glance calendar: will be sent home tomorrow during class time as well as attached to a follow up email and will be posted in the BMS band parents page.

Day 1 of North Florida Honor Band is complete! We are so excited to get started on day 2! Congratulations to all of our fantastic band kids to have made the band this year. Please help us celebrate these 15 students (names below) tonight at 7pm for the North Florida Honor Band Concert at the Union County High School auditorium.

Attention parents for the 12/2 FSU Band field trip!!!!!!!!!!
The concert ran later than expected making arrival time 12:45am at BMS. Students will unload from the bus and grab their items from the band room. Pickup will take place at the band gate immediately after.

While it was a late night, every student had an absolute blast! They look forward to sharing with you everything they have experienced on this trip!

Students that were on the list for the field trip yesterday are eligible to attend todays field trip! We will be leaving at 4pm and arriving back around 12am. Attention all parents of field trip students!

The students had a wonderful time exploring Tallahassee and Florida State University! Due to an issue with the tickets for the prism concert the students had a rare and different experience! We were able to meet and listen to a private performance from some of the FSU Marching Chiefs. Students were able to listen to their music as well as engage in questions and take pictures with some of the students.

While this was a wonderful experience, our prism concert tickets are now going to be for the 12/2 performance. As several students were disappointed by missing the concert, we will be attending tonight for those that would like to send their student that was already on the field trip.

Students wishing to attend ARE REQUIRED to have their parent submit the electronic google form saying their child will be attending as well as extending the date of their students permission slip.

There will be no extra stops on this trip. We will be feeding the students before we leave. So no money is needed on this trip. We will be leaving the school at 4pm and going directly to Ruby Diamond Concert Hall. It will once again be a late night if not later than last night. We will likely be back closer to 12am for this trip.

Students are not required to attend but given the option. If you child does not plan on going please fill out the form as well so we may keep track of who is going.

UNIFORM: Students will once again need to wear their red polo and shirt and khaki pants. We are out of shirts and DO NOT have any extras to hand out. They will have time to change before we leave if they choose not to wear it to school but will not be allowed on the bus unless they have their uniform.

Attention parents of students on the FSU field trip!!!! We will be arriving at the school at 11:37. Please be ready to pick up your student from the car loop in front of the band room. Students had a great trip exploring Tallahassee and seeing the several sections of the Marching chiefs performing for our students outside of Ruby Diamond Hall! There will be pictures and videos soon to follow.

Happy Thanksgiving Week!
We hope that everyone is enjoying their week off with lots of family and food!

December Updates:
-CHRISTMAS CONCERT DATE HAS BEEN MOVED TO 12/17!!!!!

Due to a scheduling error with the auditorium the Winter Concert has been moved to December 17th. We apologize for the wait but had to get approval before announcing the new date.

-Wind Ensemble rehearsals will resume 12/8 4-5:30pm and continue until 12/15 to prepare for the concert.

-Symphonic Band rehearsals will be 12/9 and 12/16 in the band room from 3:45-5pm.

-PRISM CONCERT FIELD TRIP:

We have been given the opportunity to attend the Florida State University Prism Concert on 12/1. Students were sent home with a flyer and permission slip. Students eligible to attend meet the following criteria:
-Have a passing grade in all band classes
-Fairshare is paid up to date
We are also looking for 5 chaperones that have been already cleared with the county to attend this concert. Confirmation for this field trip was short notice so unfortunately for parents to attend they will need to have already been cleared as a volunteer by the county or an employee.

Friends and family of our fabulous band students! We will be starting a call-a-thon for our Little Caesars Pizza fundraiser. This is to help pay for fare share costs for students who are experiencing financial hardships, but still want to participate in band. You may be receiving a call from a band student that you know in hopes of getting your help in reaching our goal, and helping our band family!

UPDATE: The Beginning Band Instrument Fitting taking place Wednesday afternoon is now CANCELLED. Due to personal illness the event will be moved to the same time the Beginning Band kickoff was supposed to be Saturday 10am-12pm.
Please spread the word!

Beginning Band students are required to come with their parents/guardians to try every instrument and pick what they would like to play for this school year!

Good Evening BMS Band Family! If you have a student that has been tagged for leadership then ask them to check their school emails for info on our first leadership meeting taking place TOMORROW 8/11. Many of the students should already be aware but please email Ms. Mumbauer of any conflicts for your child.

Good Afternoon BMS Band Ensemble Parents!!

Below is the information and schedule for team and individual pictures scheduled for *TOMORROW* August 5 with Matt Whytsell Photography. There will be a team/group photos that will be used for the program book if there is enough participation. Individual pictures must be purchased in advance on eventbrite.

• ATTIRE: BMS Band Uniform
(Red Polo Shirt, black dress pants & black shoes) •

There is no charge to be in the group photos for the football program but we wanted to offer volleyball, cheer, golf, cross country, football and band students/parents the opportunity to purchase individual pictures taken by Matt Whytsell Photography. These individual pictures MUST be paid for by August 4th. If a ticket is not purchased in advance, individual pictures will not be taken by the photographer.

For $20 you will receive 2 poses with a 10 picture gallery of the individual pictures digitally. You will also receive a team photo in your gallery (if applicable).

The schedule on August 5th is as follows: (ALL pictures will take place at BHS)

6:00 pm - BMS & BHS Band Team Photos followed by pre-ordered individual pictures.

Arrive ON TIME on time for the pictures. This will be a tight schedule and we need everyone to be prompt.

When you click to purchase a ticket please choose the sport/group you are a part of. Also, be sure to use a working email because that is where the digit link will be sent to once the pictures are complete.
