🎨 Tip Tuesday: National Arts in Education Week

This week is a great reminder that the arts are an important part of a well-rounded education.

Today’s tip: make time to create.

Whether it is drawing, painting, photography, music, theater, design, dance, or another form of creative expression, the arts give students opportunities to think differently, solve problems, take risks, communicate ideas, and build confidence.

Creativity is not just about making something that looks or sounds good. It is also about learning how to experiment, make choices, revise, adapt, and keep going when something does not work the first time. Those are skills students can carry into every subject and beyond the classroom.

So sometime today, take a few minutes to create something, appreciate someone else’s work, or encourage a student who is developing their own creative voice.

🎨 Funday Sunday: National Arts in Education Week

September 14–18 is National Arts in Education Week, a nationwide celebration recognizing the importance of the arts in schools.

The week highlights how arts education gives students opportunities to be creative, build confidence, solve problems, express themselves, and develop skills that benefit them both in and beyond the classroom.

Across the Star City School District, we’re proud to celebrate our art and music programs at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. From visual art to band, choir, and other creative opportunities, the arts play an important role in educating and inspiring students throughout our district.

This week, take a moment to support arts education by encouraging our young artists and musicians, attending performances and events, and celebrating the teachers and programs that keep the arts thriving in our schools. 🎨🎶
