🚌 Preparing for a Safe School Year!

Today, Staples-Motley School District was proud to once again host the annual Department of Transportation School Bus Driver Training, bringing together approximately 100 bus drivers from nine area school districts!

Drivers from Staples-Motley, Verndale, Wadena, Menahga, Sebeka, Pillager, Nevis, Henning and New York Mills gathered for training as they prepare to safely transport students throughout the upcoming school year.

Staples-Motley has hosted this training for several years, providing an opportunity for drivers from across the region to learn, refresh their skills and prepare for the important responsibility ahead.

As we count down to the first day of school, there is a lot of work happening behind the scenes to make sure we're ready to welcome students back — and student safety is always a priority.

Thank you to all of the bus drivers who joined us today and for the important role you play in getting students to and from school safely each day! ❤️🚌

💻 INSIDE ISD 2170: CABINET UPDATE

What happens behind the scenes to get nearly 1,000 student devices — and an entire district's technology infrastructure — ready for a new school year?

Quite a bit!

For our first Inside ISD 2170: Cabinet Update, Director of Technology Joe Brandsma gives us a look at the work happening across Staples-Motley this summer.

Among the highlights:
💻 950+ student Chromebooks and iPads cleaned and updated
🛠️ 50% reduction in screen repairs with heavy-duty Chromebooks
📶 Wi-Fi and network infrastructure upgrades
🔐 Stronger cybersecurity protections for district systems and information
🎬 New licensed digital resources for classrooms and school activities

Much of this work happens quietly behind the scenes, but it plays an important role in making sure students and staff have reliable, secure and modern technology ready to go from day one.

Get ready to have fun on the court! 🎾
This beginner-friendly tennis camp will introduce girls in grades 4–6 to the fundamentals of tennis through fun drills, games, and activities. Participants will learn basic strokes, serving, footwork, scoring, and court awareness while building confidence and developing their skills. No previous tennis experience is necessary.
Practice starts Monday September 14!
