The cross country team kicked off the year with some training and fun at Central Park. The first cross country meet is Thursday at Cal-Wheat. Junior high boys and girls at 4:30pm, high school girls 5:00pm, and high school boys 5:30pm at the Wapsi Oaks Country Club outside of Calamus.

You can nominate someone to receive an Alumni award!

The North Cedar Alumni Awards Committee is seeking nominations for the 2025-26 Alumni Awards. Know a deserving graduate who has made a difference in their profession or community? Submit a nomination by Sept. 15, 2025.

Awards include:
Achievement, Service, Athletics, Fine Arts, Community Impact

Nominees must be alumni of North Cedar or one of its predecessor districts and at least 28 years old.

Recipients will be selected later this year and honored in early 2027. Learn more and fill out the form at north-cedar.org/alumni

Help us welcome our newest North Cedar staff!
Ms. Schnede joins the North Cedar team as a First Grade Teacher at Lowden Elementary! She’s no stranger to North Cedar, having previously worked as a paraeducator, substitute teacher, and junior high track coach. Now, she’s excited to continue her journey with North Cedar as a teacher!

A few fun facts about Ms. Schnede:
🎓 She graduated from Upper Iowa University.
🚶‍♀️ She enjoys going on walks.
🏰 She’s been to Disney World seven times!
🍂 Her favorite season is fall.

And when asked why she loves North Cedar, she said, “The amazing atmosphere, supportive staff, and all of the positive experiences I’ve had so far with this district.”
