There are no rules about how we share literature. Today, I made an audio recording reading from the book Hallucinations by Oliver Sacks to forward to a dear friend that has difficulty reading after she suffered an aneurysm. She lost the ability to concentrate when reading, a visual handicap for her. But she has not lost the ability to listen, to hear, to pay attention to the spoken words, so I will promote literature by reading to a close friend that cannot read for herself.

In carrying on with that theme I will make efforts to share some time volunteering at senior centers to read select stories to the elderly.

F.R.W.W Future Readers World Wide The Great Book Give-A-Way-Foundation is a non profit organization that fosters the promotion of reading and literature into your communities through kooky means, creative manners, by sharing and caring, by volunteering, with donations of books, books, and more books. The right books, into the right hands, the hands of everyone. Post your stories here and tell us about how you or someone you know has made a difference. The success of this endeavor relies on community actions, being pro-active and all of your creativity.

When this foundation was established, it was on the skirt tails of the ice bucket challenge, our thinking and what we ran with, sure millions would follow, was The Great Book Give-A-Way challenge. To take a video of yourself, giving a great book, to a stranger, that may have not had means to purchase it for themselves. But, particularly for non-readers with limited access, the book you give, to make the right first impression, an introduction into reading must be an exceptionally well written story. Any lessor than a book that wow's the reader could lose the reader which is what we don't want.
So, do, put some thought into this, clean off your book shelves, donate extra copies to shelters, foster care centers, woman's shelters, schools... Think about the first book you read that you loved? What author bound you to your love of reading?
