We had a blast reading "Sick Simon" It's such a fun story about how germs spread. To really drive the point home, every time Simon sneezed or coughed in the book, we sprayed a little mist of water in the air to show the kiddos how those pesky germs travel! 💦 They were so engaged and learned a valuable lesson about covering their mouths and washing their hands. 🧼 Hands-on learning at its finest!

🎭 Meet our star guest: Mr. Chompers! 🐊

I had the honor of being the voice of an alligator puppet, and the children loved it! They took turns giving Mr. Chompers words to say, and every time he opened his mouth, we counted the syllables together. 🗣️👋

📖 Why do I love this?
Teaching pre-reading skills like syllable counting is not only fun but builds a strong foundation for literacy. Watching the kids giggle and learn at the same time is the best part of my day. 💕

Just wrapped up an incredibly inspiring weekend at the Early Childhood Conference! 👶🧠 It was an absolute honor to be surrounded by passionate educators, researchers, and professionals all dedicated to nurturing the minds and hearts of our little ones. From innovative teaching techniques to groundbreaking research, every moment was packed with invaluable insights and ideas. 📚💡

I feel so energized and motivated to bring back everything I've learned to our own early childhood community. Together, we can continue to create a nurturing, stimulating environment where every child can thrive and flourish. 🌱💖

Brrr! It's getting chilly, but even penguins have nothing on our preschoolers when it comes to staying warm! ❄️
We dived into the amazing world of whales and learned how they survive in icy cold waters. Turns out, they have a secret weapon: BLUBBER!

But what exactly is blubber? We couldn't just take a trip to the ocean to touch a whale (although wouldn't that be amazing!), so we got creative!

Our little scientists transformed into blubber experts by experimenting with...vegetable shortening! We filled zip lock bags with shortening to create our own mini "blubber suits," then plunged our gloved hands into ice water. ✨

And guess what? The hands with "blubber" stayed toasty warm much longer!

The excitement was contagious as the children learned why blubber is so important for whales and how it helps them stay warm even in the coldest depths. Plus, they got to experience the science firsthand with a fun, messy activity!

We're so proud of our curious explorers and their growing understanding of the amazing animal world! What other incredible creatures should we investigate next?
