Good afternoon Springfield families, This is Mrs. Buchanon calling with your weekly announcements. Students interim grades are currently updated and viewable in Schoology. You should have received a code and directions from your teacher to help you log into the parent campus to view these grades. Remember that students work on these grade level standards for more than just this four and a half weeks. Our goal is to grow students in these standards so that you see a gradual increase in their abilities at each grading period.
We have several fun events planned for Friday of this week. We will be celebrating Dolly Parton Day. Have your student wear their best Dolly or Western wear to school. We will also be collecting change to make a donation to the Imagination Library from our school. First Grade will have a field trip to see Frog and Toad at the Childrens' Theater. The cost is $22. Also, Ms. Honeycutt's PreK class will be having a Start Session at 1:00pm.

Good afternoon Springfield families,
This is Mrs. Buchanon calling with your weekly announcements. Starting Monday morning, we have made some adjustments to the Springfield and Kiser routes that should get all students back on a bus. The call regarding these new routes was sent out on Friday afternoon. If your student rode bus 124 or bus 176 and you are not aware of their new bus information, please call the school, or Dojo their teacher during office hours from 7:05am until 3:30pm.
On Tuesday, we will be celebrating Dot Day! Please have your student dress in their polka dot attire. Their polka dot artwork that they have made is displayed throughout our building. This is a great learning experience for students as they navigate making friends at school to realize that like people, every dot is different.
Just a reminder families that Wednesday is a teacher professional learning day for our staff. There is no school Wednesday for students.
Looking ahead to next week, we have two fun events happening on Friday, Sept. 25. Our First Grade students will be going on a field trip to the Children's Theater to see Frog and Toad. We will also be celebrating Dolly Day with our best country and western outfits and a collection jar for change that we will donate to the Imagination Library in honor of Dolly.

Good afternoon Springfield families,
This is Mrs. Buchanon with your weekly messages.  There will be no school tomorrow on Monday in observance of the Labor Day holiday. On Tuesday we will have school pictures with Carolina photography. These pictures are pay at the camera. Please make sure your student has their completed picture form to order or that you have ordered online.  bus 176 and 124 will not run on Tuesday. We will be having a bus meeting with transportation to try to create a route for the students to get them transportation started hopefully this week. We will be in communication as soon as we have drivers and routes approved by the county.

TEST RESULTS ARE IN: Today, the State Board of Education released testing and accountability data for the 2025-2026, and there is good news for Gaston County Schools.

Good afternoon Springfield families,
Mrs. Buchanon will be back to messaging as soon as her voice returns! In the meantime, please pay close attention to these important messages. First Bus 176 and Bus 124 will not be running this week. We are looking into all options possible, and continuing to interview any candidates for these positions. We understand that this is a hardship for families and are working together with our feeder area schools to come up with solutions. In your email you may have received a notification regarding a negative cafeteria balance which was sent through the LINQ School Nutrition system in error. Please disregard the message. No action is required in response to that notification.
Looking ahead at upcoming dates, Monday, September 7 we will not have school in observance of Labor Day. On Tuesday, September 8, we will have fall pictures. Information packets will come home in your student's homework folder.

Good afternoon Springfield families,
This is Mrs. Buchanon calling with your weekly announcements. First off, the orange traffic cones have been returned to their proper location in the driveway. Please pull past them and then merge. I hope that this helps traffic to flow more smoothly. Also, please remember that if your child needs buckled, please pull out of the traffic line to do so.
Bus 124 will be running this week in the mornings and afternoons. We are still struggling to find drivers to cover routes. If you are interested in becoming a bus diver, please read the information on our page.
On Tuesday night we will be having an information meeting. We will discuss kindergarten portfolios, standards based grading, joining the PTO, and the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts will be here for signups. Please join us from 5:00pm until 6:30pm for this information if you are interested. Hope to see you there!
