They may think they’re simply dancing—but they’re also learning to listen, follow directions, try independently, and feel confident in a classroom.
Those little moments of growth are a big part of our preschool dance classes. 💗

Progress is built in moments like this—one correction, one repetition, and one small breakthrough at a time.
At Danse Élan, we believe strong dancers are developed through patient, thoughtful training and attention to the details that make a difference.

You may know us for dance—but did you know Danse Élan has an Art Academy too? 🎨
Our art classes give children ages 4 and up a place to explore new techniques, express their creativity, and feel proud of what they create.
Fall classes begin the week of September 14. Would you like information about our art program?

We came back from Teacher Training School to the sweetest surprise. 💜
Our dancers, led by Hartley Durn, welcomed us with a handmade banner, flowers, and the sweetest card. It was such a thoughtful reminder of what makes this studio so special.
Thank you to our incredible dance family for making us feel so loved. We can't wait to share everything we learned with you this season! 🌻

The learning never stops—not even for the teacher.
This week, We are back in the classroom at Teacher Training School through Dance Masters of America, continuing to study, observe and refine the way we teach.
Our dancers deserve teachers who remain curious, thoughtful and committed to growing. What we learn here will return to the studio through clearer instruction, more intentional corrections and a deeper understanding of how dancers learn.
Because strong teaching begins with teachers who is still willing to be a student.

A preschool dance class may look like an hour filled with music, imagination and movement—and it should.
But underneath the fun, young dancers are also learning how to listen, follow a sequence, recognize musical cues, move safely through space and participate confidently in a classroom.
They are developing coordination, body awareness, patience and the willingness to try again when something does not happen perfectly the first time.
These early lessons create a foundation for future dance training, but they also support children far beyond the studio.
The steps matter. So does everything they learn along the way.

This dancer is learning how to adjust her upper body and open through the back—creating more freedom through the shoulders and developing a stronger, more expressive port de bras.
Corrections like this may seem small, but over time, they shape how a dancer moves and help her build technique safely and intentionally.
Strong dancers are built one thoughtful correction at a time.

There is more happening in this moment than bubbles, pompoms, and happy little dancers.
They are listening, responding to music, developing coordination, building confidence, and learning how to move together—all while discovering how joyful learning can be.
At Danse Élan, purposeful training and childhood joy belong in the same room.
Because joy isn’t separate from the training. It is part of it. ✨
